it looks nice... But nothing new, actually I wish there could be a thick bootleg inside. Unless nothing special...I think??? What do you think guys?

I like the fact, that they added the on tour gospel singing. so my question: as stated in OT they did that all the time in those years out on the road. wish there would surface some more tapes of that kind, which would yield a great new gospel album. Working title: You Better Run...;-) As it relates to an after show event...

Well, there have been two amazing gospel collections. I´m talking about Peace in the valley and amazing grace, with the first one being the best. There was the masters and some bonus songs, like the home recordings. So, really, what is new now? Does the Elvis world need another gospel collection? Probably not. Seems like they tried though, the inclusion of "I was born about 10.000 years ago" is kind of nice. That is an exciting performance by Elvis

There's nothing on here I don't already have. Does the Elvis world need another gospel release? For those of us who frequent this board and others and buy everything (or almost) probably not. But the Elvis world gets new converts often and for those folks this is a great set. Even for established fans this set will I'm sure offer a sound upgrade over "Amazing Grace" and "Peace In The Valley." Those sets aren't exactly new. Everyone has to decide on this set based on their own priorities. Me? I'll probably take a pass on this and instead buy the recently remastered 3 original gospel albums with their respective bonus tracks. That's enough gospel for me.

Yes the sound quality on the recent redo of the 3 original collections with bonus tracks was a clear upgrade over the boxes and individual CD's of the past. This collection has some extras that the 3 new versions don't have. I did buy the 3 CD's last year and they cover the most important tracks and that does it for me. But if someone wants to replace the old boxes and they are not sure if this is an improvement you can be confident that this set is a big step up in sound quality.

IMO, this would be the best cover of the gospel collections. It looks like a longbox format, so, perhaps, a nice booklet too?

I must say this is a very logical track listing. You can clearly see the compiler's thinking. "I Asked The Lord" could also have been included near the end. And I wish for once someone would include the title of the first of the three songs in the EOT rehearsal medley - it's called "Must Jesus Bear The Cross Alone".

I am a little surprised that none of the Million Dollar Quartet stuff is on here since other "home recordings" are. Only thing that might have been interesting to me would be to put the million dollar version of Down By The Riverside and When The Saints Go Marching In alongside the Frankie and Johnny versions, just for comparison sake.

Looks like “How Great Thou Art” from Elvis In Concert was omitted. That should have a place on a compilation called “The Gospel Masters”, shouldn’t it? More so than home recordings anyway…

Great cover. A nice booklet would welcome too.

where did they go lord? isnt on there why?
Harvey Alexander wrote on January 27, 2009
'Where Did They Go, Lord' isn't a gospel song, Mofocca. Listen to the lyrics. Hey, with them doing a new gospel set do you think we'll get another Christmas collection this year? My fingers are crossed!

"If I can Dream" and "I was born about ten thousand years ago" aren't Gospel songs. Anyway this release is THE SAME of "Peace in the valley" box !!!

How many times do they want us to buy the same thing ? Ich will NOT buy this one. Nodak is right Auch(also) why didn´t they bring those On Tour gospel rehearsals earlier on former FTD releases? Do not like photo of our hero; nor do I like the new price.

Cafe- Do you really think they are expecting you or me or any of us to buy the same old thing over again? Of course not. They know the long time Elvis fans have all these songs, in some cases many times over. No, this is aimed at the newer or more casual fan who may not be aware of previous packages. Just putting it out there can cause interest for newer fans. Of course some older fans with endless dollars can buy it also.
