Graceland Opens New Wedding Chapel

October 19, 2000 | Other
A new wedding chapel has opened near Graceland Mansion offering a unique wedding experience. Nestled in the woods adjacent to Elvis Presley's beloved home, this quaint Chapel in the Woods is the long-awaited setting for weddings to remember. Since Graceland's opening in 1982, the visitors' center across the street from the mansion has been the site of numerous weddings. In response to hundreds of requests over the years for additional services, the full service wedding facility has been completed.

Available for intimate events with just the bride and groom, as well as parties of up to 50 people, Graceland's new Chapel in the Woods offers all the amenities and services expected for the ``perfect'' wedding. Guests in the Chapel will be seated in authentic, antique church pews while vows are exchanged in front of a replica of the stained glass transom located above Graceland Mansion's front door. An intimate reception area located at the back of the chapel includes a hand-painted mural of Graceland Mansion, and the landscaped grounds surrounding the Chapel offer a lovely setting for outdoor receptions.

The Chapel joins the recently opened Heartbreak Hotel and the restaurant/nightclub Elvis Presley's Memphis to round out the wedding experience.
