Graceland Film Footage From 1949

January 19, 2009 | Other

Ruth Cobb (82) is the daughter of Dr. Thomas Moore, the former owner of Graceland who sold his property to Elvis. Ruth grew up in the mansion, not knowing that her home would once become the most visited house in the world. Ruth searched in her personal archives and found pictures and film footage in color, made in 1949.

In the next issue of the ElvisMatters magazine, you can read an exclusive interview with Ruth Cobb.

That was cool. To bad they did not have footage of the upstairs area. That would have been great.

Mrs. Cobb sounds lovely. Just this snippet was facinating to see. How about seeing the previous front door before Elvis changed it & before the lions were installed. I would also loved to have seen the original gates. Mrs. Cobb should be fully interviewed for all her memories of Graceland before time & her memories fade. At 82 I wish her many more years of health & happiness though.
