Gordon Stoker In Hospice Care

March 21, 2013 | People

Jordanaire Gordon Stoker is in hospice care. Ray Walker was on the George Klein Elvis Show recently and mentioned this sad news. Gordon Stoker turned 88 on August 3rd, 2013 - and he and Ray Walker are key figures among the few fifties era Elvis acquaintances still remaining. Ray Walker turned 79 this last weekend March 16th, while the great D.J. Fontana turned 82 the previous day.

Alas, they will all be gone before too long. What an era.

It appears to be very serious. George Klein, didn't want it to discuss it, in detail, on his Sirius Radio show, on March 22nd, but he did acknowledge that Gordon, was indeed in the hospital. Gordon Stoker is a such a nice man, I hope he pulls through and stays with us, for many more years, to come. Love his harmony vocals, with Elvis, on the hit songs "All Shook up" and "Good Luck Charm", to name 2, of many. Hang in there Gordon !

A very sweet man indeed. I met him when he was playing shows (as part of the Jordanaires) with my friend Jimmy (Orion) Ellis in the late 90's. I hope he is resting comfortably.
