It's too bad those new vinyls are digitally remastered, so i'll stick to my originals. Although they will always sound better than the CD's, even Viva Elvis on vinyl sounds better on my technics SL1210 than on CD. But new releases i'll buy, vinyl of course.

I see our marketing expert is back under yet another user name, but still the same idiotic comments. This is just a re-release aimed at vinyl collectors. CD-only users need not apply

limited is only cause they are not gonna sell more..

If one writes under 2,6 or 10 names, then ones point of view is not 2,6 or 10 times more true, more right or better ! Actually I think it kind of subtract from ones statement, it is like one is trying to hide behind "The safety of numbers" as it is called in theory of arguments . Regarding this record, it is a great way (together with the 4 other golden records) to introduce people to The King's music, and this one should do especially well with lovers of opera and ballads . I myself am really fond of the last one (volume 5). The only thing I have against these unofficially releases is that they are not counted as sales for gold or platinum awards and that I think is cheating Elvis of some of the honer he deserves, (and before someone comment on this, then let me say that I already know that some people think it is stupid to care about sales, but I still do :). )

Deano, what a great and beautiful object this must have been for childeren ! And 45s that came with a filmstrip !

Benny, a show n tell record player was a childrens record player made by GE (General Electric) that had a screen on front of it. You would buy 45rpm records that came with a film strip that you inserted in the top of the record player and when you played the 45 story record, the film strip would move along with the record and show you the story in a series of still slides. From the time I was a couple of years old, it was used much more just to listen to Elvis records...Gold vol 3, the singles, Jailhouse Rock/Treat Me Nice, Teddy Bear/Loving You, Are You Lonesome Tonight/I Gotta Know, The Love Me Tender EP, Big Hunk O Love/My Wish Came True...and then in '73 my first record purchase Steamroller Blues/Fool with the picture sleeve!

Yes Deano, a fantastic album that I have listed as my favourite in my profile. These 12 tracks showed why he was the so called King, not just of Rock 'n' Roll but by demonstrating his innate ability to perform a wide range of musical genre at a high level. I always think he is the decathlete of music, not necessarily the best in any event, but put them all togethe and you have the number one

Deano1, agreed. Great record indeed ! Being a European and out of interest : what's a show n tell record player ?

This LP along with a few singles that my Mom allowed me to play on my show n tell record player were my first introductions into Elvis' music. I still have the records even though they have seen better days. This LP was an awesome mix of blues, pop, rock and ballads all delivered brilliantly by Elvis and it is a crowning jewel in his legacy.
