Ger Rijff Has Left The Building

July 15, 2019 | People

Long time Elvis-fan, author of more than 20 books and producer of less legal material Ger Rijff (1951) has passed away July 13, this is the message his son posted on Facebook:

"Dear friends,

My father has passed away last saturday. An absolute unexpected tragedy. He is known for his knowledge, creativity and kindness (and justly grumpyness on his Rijffster page). He was and will be my best buddy, I can’t describe how much he will be missed. Dad has taught me some of the most important things in life: a great taste in music and the importance of freedom.

Please show some respect to Ger and me, do NOT send any gifs with sparkles or Elvis angels (or any of these crappy things Dad hated). He might come and haunt you if you do so! Ha, love you Dad, go and get ‘em.

“When the broken-hearted people, living in the world agree, there will be an answer, Let it Be” - The Fab Four (whom where as good as the King).

Postage / personal notes may be send to:

Jamie Rijff
Rijnstraat 53-4
1078 PZ, Amsterdam
The Netherlands"

We can only agree with Jamie's description and value the time we met and spoke to him. Rest in piece, Ger, and thanks for your rich contributions to the Elvis world.

Sad, sad new. All the beautiful things he brought the fans and the time he took to answer questions when he was still active on message-boards. He's gonna be missed for sure!

How sad! I remember, as a young fan, back in the 80's I talked to him a couple of times on the phone. I had a couple of questions about Elvis bootlegs and he seemed as the ‘guy to go to’, so I looked up his number and just asked my questions. I think he was used to it because he really took the time to speak to me and wasn’t annoyed (or something) at all.
