Gamblers Give Up On Elvis Being Alive

August 17, 2005 | Other
Bookmakers have revealed that wagers have all but dried up from fans betting that Elvis Presley is still alive. Over the years UK bookmakers William Hill have taken thousands of bets that Elvis will be found alive, but in the last year fans have stopped placing bets. Bookmakers have now lengthened the odds of Elvis being found alive from 100/1 to 1000/1." The biggest odds we have ever given was a Elvis related bet, we offered 14 million to one that Elvis will crash land a UFO into Loch Ness hitting the monster," said bookmaker Rupert Adams. "It is perhaps the end of an era, where even his most ardent fans no longer believe that Elvis could have remained hidden for so long."

this 'elvis is alive' theory was long in the tooth anyway but if you listen to the gail giorgio's tape of elvis supposably speaking in'82 you like to know how they did it cause the voice sounds exactly like elvis. I've been scouring taped interviews to see if the dialogue has been take from previous interviews havent found any yet. I dont make it my lifes ambition or anything just curious thats all

The guy that did the "Is Elvis Alive" cassette was a guy that was hired by a now-defunct group called, "Eteranally Elvis", and his name was David Darlock (or Gaezale). He hasn't been seen or heard of since the late 1980s.

cathyreno dear all of us in the south don't talk the same we have a southern drawal just like you probably have an accent of some kind depending on where you are from. I remember from 8yrs of age to about 14 yrs old I would see these papers Elvis is alive. I made my parents buy them all and take me to his concert when he came back, my parents took the deal and said we will take you to all the concerts. The funniest joke of Elvis ever played on me was one of those papers said Elvis was coming out of hiding on new years day at midnight 1988. I set everything to record my vcr my radio I stayed in my room waiting to just go crazy to see Elvis or hear him, 12:00 hit and bang a blaring "That all right mama" came blasting from the living room I ran in there and screamed I told you. well they all fell over laughing their ass off you guessed it they had took one of my CD's and put it in the player I was mad as hell at the time. When I was older I really watched some of the more serious programs and everything just happens to perfect you know the president gets shot to show the date, Elvis calls a woman I never heard of to leave messages. Anyone who thought Elvis was still alive must not have witnessed pictures, recordings, and the concert footage from the last years. People never give up though there is this idiot who has a web site to get donations because he is going to track Elvis down, but he needs 10 or 20 bucks from you and me cause he has to eat and all, The worst part is people are giving him money and he always right at the edge of a big find then the money runs out so he needs more for this sacrifice that he plans to write a book or movie on, People wish Elvis was still here so much they are willing to give this idiot money. I can sum it up for you ELVIS is alive here on this sites when all his fans come together young and old men and women people from different countries giving our opinions and talking about a common admiration- No talk of my country is better than yours ect, just a lot of people of all walks of life keeping the memory going, no body asking for your money just a great site to honor a great man who will live as long as his fans continue this Tradition. God bless all of you my friends and long live the king who is now home in heaven with the lord jesus Christ, The King of all Things.

apologies buyerep01, when I was over in memphis in 2001 the southern drawl can be heard all over the place lol and I think that accent is nice. Red West use to dub Elvis on recordings and sometimes he can sound abit like him. I'm Irish from Dublin so I probably would sound very irishy to others from different countries lol. And you're right this site is brilliant that you are able to meet fellow fans like yourself and talk 'Elvis' without annoying family and friends is a godsend. thanks for the info on the mystery caller tonytrout never knew that. take care every one
