FTD Soundtrack Cover Art

September 09, 2003 | Music
Here is the supposed cover art for two of the new FTD Soundtrack re-releases "Harum Scarum" and "Frankie And Johnny". These images could very well be the covers of the booklets, since it isn't the original album cover art FTD wants to use for the re-releases.

These CD's should be released by the end of November (no final date has been set yet) together with "Viva Las Vegas".

Exactly what I was thinking. FTD will use the original album artwork for the front covers of Harum Scarum and Frankie and Johnny. Since there was no Viva Las Vegas album it will be interesting to see if they use the original EP and/or single artwork or create their own. Perhaps they will do a bit of both. We shall see.

These covers for the booklets are terrific. I've always enjoyed Harum Scarum as a nice entertaining movie. The Soundtrack is excellent. I think it is recorded in Nashville Studio-B. But I am not too fond of Frankie & Johnny as a movie, and the only 2 songs I like liked are Shout it Out & Please Don't Stop Loving Me. I guess its all a matter of taste. Still I can't wait for these FTD soundtrack Viva Las Vegas should be terrific! Hope Enrst will not forget to include that fantastic rockin version of C'mon Everybody - the actual true original movie soundtrack version where Elvis performed with Ann Margret with fngers clicking, feet stompin & whistling etc I've still have this track on the old bootleg Vinyl album of 1970s I WANNA BE A ROCK n ROLL STAR but the sound quality is very poor on that LP. Ernst-let's have this Version in Living Stereo this time..

I agree, that the cover art, should be the original album art since they started the "FTD Soundtrack series" out this way. It should continue.

I can't believe that these are the actual covers. After all the obvious care that went into the first three FTD soundtrack releases, there's no way -- in my mind, anyway -- that they would issue the next three with anything but replications of the LP's original covers. These are probably booklet shots used to show how the pictures from the original photo sessions were cropped, cut-and-pastes, etc for the original releases. I'm looking forward to all three, although "Frankie" and "Harum" were never among my favorite movies or soundtracks. Still, I can't wait for "Viva!" -- finally, its own soundtrack release after all these years!
