As a big fan of James Burton and a guitar player myself I'd love to have access to the isolated guitar tracks as shown in the video.

In other words, a video promoting the set of undubbed masters! We’ve had these for years, starting with the Memories of Elvis series. Why the hype? Or am I missing something? The samples on Apple Music sound amazing though!

I received my copy on Friday and have listened to some of the songs. For practical reasons I tend to listen to music from my high quality earphones. My initial thoughts are that these sound a bit better on my earphones from the FTD releases than from these new mixes. I felt the same with the "Way Down In The Jungle Room" release. It's probably because the stereo separation is not as prominent. I think that the mastering is more aimed at those who listen through speakers and would be interested to hear the view of others. Returning to the topic; I enjoyed this clip. Let's hope the album sells well enough to encourage more projects like this...

Well I thoroughly enjoyed that interlude, and it reminded one of the brilliance of the output from those recording sessions - Elvis magic. Thank you very much.

Got both the CD set and the vinyl, BTW the video clip was fantastic would love to see more like that, back to the music, just heard disc 1 & 2 and compared it to other discs in my collection including FTD and WOW what a sonic difference, I love FTD and collect everything they put out but this set blows them all away. Matt has done a fabulous job with the help of Ernest and they came up with a masterpiece, on my loud speakers or my headphones this set is tops to all the other releases from the past. Great job guys keep them coming.

I bought mine yesterday. The sound is very good, each instrument sounds more upfront giving the impression you are in the studio at that time BUT the booklet along with the pressing of the CDs is disappointing. The colour of the CDs is yellow for all four (usually we get different colours for each CD) and the paper for the booklet is not high quality gloss like all the other special releases.

I would like to retract my earlier post. Listening to the tracks today, I totally get it. The sound was so incredible it was like listening to these songs in the studio whilst Elvis was next to me. Stunning!!

I loved it to see Ernst shaking to Elvis music. He nearly freaks out ! Keep up the work for Elvis, Mr.

Magnificent! first of all the sound which highlights the voice of Elvis as well as the instruments which are clearer, only the best takes and highlights... then the packaging with the RCA studio photos and the mixing consoles or tapes box archives, very nice atmosphere while listening to the music, it changes pictures of Elvis in concert which were used even for studio albums in the 70s, the vinyl is really superb whether it is the inside or the back cover not to mention the group photo and the studio in the background on the front cover ... a total success for me ...thank you !

In general I like the original sugar coat Felton Jarvis mixes more. I really like the added strings, horns and backing vocals from a lot of songs. I collect all FTD releases and for me this release is not so sensational. All songs sounds a bit the same for me, because they used the same mixing for every song. With one song you hear the piano in the middle with Elvis voice. Should be seperated in the left or right channel. The album "Elvis is Back" is 60 years old and the album stands out with stereo separation. If they could do that 60 years ago, why they can't do that today? I listen a lot music with headphones, so maybe i am a bit more critical if it comes to stereo separation. With this release they used the same trick over and over again for all the songs. Not that it bad, but it could be much better. With the Felton mixes every song had more his own feeling, but with taste you can not argue. I want only one thing. A correct Felton Jarvis master of the song "Funny How Time Slips Away" They almost did it right with the 70's masters box set, but there you hear at the last part of the song the piano and the guitar at the same time, while with the Jarvis master you hear only the piano. You can only hear it on the original Country album, but there you hear not the complete master because the song "I Was Born About ten Thousand Years Ago" ruin the start and end. Yes Felton must have been drunk when he mixed all the songs together with that song, but with mastering individually songs he was a genius.

I like to compare with what's done with other artists from the same era. Recently there was a a 2 cd + Blu-ray of a show from 1970 by a legendary guitarist. The sound is amazing. Remastered audio DTS 5.1 True HD. This is from Sony Legacy as well. When I compare this release to releases like the box set of Madison Square Garden or the 1968 Special, Elvis fans deserve better!

I am very pleased with this set. As it was first announced I thought we would get a complete session box, but it wasn't so I was dissapointed, but well what haven't we got? I counted some missing takes ,but if they were spectacular they would have released them already. The sound of this set is so amzing that it makes up for that. The design is very tasteful and the intimate studio feeling is there. A great set to have and the LP is a winner. My daughter (14) likes I washed my hands in muddy water.
