To make the current UK single release even more collectable BMG "produced" several "misprints" of the vinyl edition of "A Fool Such As I" by mistake.

The A side has the correct label correct with "A Fool Such As I" but the B side has a label with "Make Me Know It" and "A Mess Of The Blues" printed on it (the label of the upcoming release). The songs on the disc itself are the correct two; "I Need Your Love Tonight" and "A Fool Such As I".

I've recieved my copy of "A Fool Such As I" on vinyl this morning and I have one of these "produced" mis spelt labels. What I want to know is how many copies "several" represents. Is this several as in under 10 or several thousand? Call me cynical, but I think someones been pushing the wrong buttons at the pressing plant and didnt realise it until it was too late...Whoops !!

Sure I bought a copy of Jailhouse Rock but it said "Way Down " on the label and when I played it , it was actually "Rubberneckin" and on the B side it said "A fool such as I" but when i played it , it was the rare song "Where have all the records gone"? would you believe it ?!

I cannot believe that Sony/BMG created this mis-print label on purpose what is the point they don't make any more money, no, I think this is a genune factory mistake somebody just loaded in next weeks labels by mistake, so I guess these mis-prints will be on ebay soon for £500.

I also recieved afsai vinyl copy with the mispressed labels i contacted hmv customer service who was not aware of this error and just said that it would be even more collectable and did not think sony/bmg were going to put this right. I also emailed epe on friday for them to explain to me why they did not grant the bbc permission to use any footage for jailhouse rock on totp and if they were going to change they minds for this weeks 1000th #1 i am still waiting for a reply!!!!

I think it was a mistake with the labels as well. I have got the vinyl of A fool such as I but mine has got the right label. I have also sent an email to EPE but i still have not got an answer from them yet and i probably never will. I also sent an email to Top of the pops and i did get an answer. They said:As you may be aware we have been denied the right to show footage of Elvis Presley on screen. Its a real shame that we wont beable to celebrate the 1000th no 1 exactly as it deserves to be but we do have something special planned.

It may be a mistake to misprint the label in the recordfactory. But to call it a collectable is a little over the top, don't you think ?? I think it's a little strange to call it that way. You can press the 30 # 1 hits vinylalbum, with the labels of 2nd to None, or with no labels at all, and call it a collectable. I think the 10 inch singles are a collectable if the company only presses 7500 copies of it, and no more than that. So for me even these 18 singles are no collectable anymore. Just nice to have, but no more than that. Or when there are only 100 copies of an Elvis record in the world. Now that's a collectable. They can make the same mistake over and over again, and call it a collectable. But i think that's not the way.

Hey Lucky, Did you manage to get the cd's you were looking for?

Got a reply from EPE here it is: EPE has had to turn down all footage requests from the BBC since 2002, when an as yet unresolved dispute between the two companies arose. EPE had licensed footage to the BBC for one of their programs and then they re-used that material for other programming despite the fact that the usage agreement specified that re-use was prohibited without separate, specific permission from EPE. The BBC has been mostly unresponsive about the matter, which EPE has been proactive in trying to resolve. Unfortunately, the special opportunity with "Top of the Pops" had to be turned down, as with all BBC footage requests while the infringement issue remains unsettled. It does appear that the high-profile nature of this most recent EPE turndown of a BBC footage request has caught the attention of BBC staff higher up than those EPE has been in communication with about the infringement matter. We hope resolution of the issue will come swiftly, hopefully before this week's edition of "Top of the Pops" when "One Night," Elvis's latest #1 single in the UK should be featured. We are as disappointed as the Elvis fans are about not having Elvis properly represented on the "Top of the Pops" program during the current and exciting wave of success his legacy is enjoying with BMG's great Elvis UK #1 singles reissue promotion. The BBC is to blame, yet EPE is getting bashed for it.

Hi Ally! No joy I'm afraid, tried phoning Elvis Presley Records By Mail but they only have enough to cover their pre-orders!However, I do have a spare copy of AFSAI cd single that I would like to sell to a genuine fan, as I do not want to sell on Ebay! I think its against the rules to put your email addy on here, so don't know how to go about finding a good home for it!Any suggestions.......
