Flaming Star #33

February 18, 2005 | Other
From Norwegian Fan Club “Flaming Star” we received volume 33 of their fan club magazine. Besides the usual sections this edition has three very big articles on the fan club trip to Memphis, Elvis’ Memphis ’69 Band and the individual members and bootleg’s versus FTD releases. As we have come to expect from the best looking fan club magazine around, this volume too contains many great pictures, including many shots from 1969.

This magazine comes with a free CD Titled "That's All Right" with early SUN recordings and interviews.

Eagleone what are you on about? Elvis was the coolest dude who ever lived without even trying to be. He was naturally cool. He was a fan of James Dean's acting but never tried to be like him in his everyday life. Dean was a great actor but Elvis would have blown him away in terms of charm, looks and charisma had they been in the same room together.

I agree with eagleone about BMG using more pictures from this period, he never looked as cool as he did in the late 60's and the early 70's. This Elvis is also more compatable with the fashon of our time and would probably work well with the younger generation. The next big release from BMG should have a shot of Elvis from the press conferance in august 69 on the sleeve.

Why do all guys shave their heads now? I know exactly why, all young guys these days seems balding very early in life and that´s why they shave it all off. They want us to belive they´re cool, they look more like camp-victims. Could be their tragic eating-habits, no vitamins and too much booze. No, I go for a full hairdo a´la Rick Nelson 1981, that sure was a classy looking guy.
