First Image Dutch Rubberneckin' Box

September 13, 2003 | Music
Here is the first image of the first Rubberneckin' - The Singles Collection Box. It is a fold open box in L.P. size with the three versions of the singe and the 12 Inch. This box will probably be available this Monday.

Sadly first impressions do count, and the above Box Set cover is truly awful and lacks any imagination whatsoever. Take a leaf out of BMG Asia's books !

Yep picked up mine copy of it too. Nice packaging. Though one big remark. It says on the 12" inch single: Not For Sale. What is this for a load of crap? 3000 copies of it have been pressed, and all 3000 copies are being sold! It would be a different story when the record store would give 'em away for free. Which they don't. You have to pay for it. And second: The lady behind the counter couldn't tell me whether a sold unit (containing 4xRubberneckin') is counted as 1 or as 4 sold records. Can anyone give information on that subject?

Wake up. No company in the world gives anything away for free. And secondly, a promo is usually pressed in limited quantities. 150-200 at the most. That makes it so special and makes it so difficult to collect. Third: I heard that 1 sold unit, counts as one: not 4 sold Rubberneckin's. It is a missed change: now we have 3000 sales instead of 12000 (...remember we got to have this thing in the charts!). And forth: at all formats we get Rubberneckin', why didn't they put the video-clip on it? Or the promo-trailer of Second To None? They did feature a videoclip with If I Can Dream/Amerca The Beautifil. Remember?

I just recieved my copy, And I think it's the best package ever. It's much much better in real "live"than on the picture. And for the one's who think they buy an " not for sale" promo. Well you actually don't have to pay for the vinyl if you get 4 singles for the price of JUST 15 euro's (almost the same as 15 dollar b.t.w). I would even buy it if it should cost double the price. Don't complain all the time be satisfied once in a wile!!

Cool to see the first image of this limited-edition box. I heard btw that this guy Rudy really wanted this Elvis-box that bad that he was presented at the HQ of the Free Recordshop with a first copy of it. Talking about beeing first. Btw: is this single-box including a vinyl record? Cause i heard of such but haven't seen any pic of it yet.

The 12" in this boxset is the official promo that was handed out by BMG in the last couple of months. As Elvos states: 3 singles times aprox. 5 euro's is 15 euro so the 12" promo (!) is for free. The promo has been pressed again especially for this set, 3000 only. Still not much with so many Elvis fans in the world, I think, and it remains a collectors item therefore. This set will be a collectors item soon as it looks GREAT. The full colour, shiny artwork, the single's, great. The vinyl is beautiful. For 15 euro's (and 99 cents) I think we can fairly say the BMG Holland does deserve a thumbs up. This boxset was one of the tools set out by BMG International and Holland got it. What a treat, I agree with Elvos: this one there's nothing to complain about, it's a winner!.

Oh no, Emiel, here we go again. It will never be right for you will it?. You seem to know it all so well. It saddens me, knowing how hard BMG Holland worked to get this exclusive, and delivered it so beautiful. Emiel: a promo is a promo. This is a 100% legitimate promo, only extra made for this boxset and 3000 is still a small number considering the many, many Elvis fans around the world. Anyway: all this negativism again; I think it is best to ask BMG to stop releasing any Elvis material as they can do no right anytime they do something. Can't believe I react again to your 'points', only made up from things you heard to the grapevine. Why don't we get this, why don't we get that, why not so, why not such. childish and saddening. I wonder if you have any fun being an Elvis fan, you must be so dissapointed with every release. I dread (already) your no doubt upcoming 'reviews' on Second To None and the 30#1Hits Deluxe set.
