elvis said he didnt want to be singing hound dog at 50, so here they have him singing it at 72 and will be singing it at 172. these releases have to stop.

its a freaken shame aint it? a great singer with great songs he sang but he was always stuck singing the same crap over and over again no wonder why in the 70's he started to really do himself in with the drugs if i had to sing the same old songs over and over again id kil myself too. and a lot of it is the fans fault they wanted the 50's elvis in the 1970's everytime he tried something new i read that tom parker would be ticked off at him and said the fans dont wnat to hear you singing this or that. if that were to happen today the fans wouldnt even go to his concerts thats the sad fact of reality. sure he is still popualr today but hes dead thats why if he were alive still singing the same songs every freaken day people would get bored. i know i get bored after awhile listening to his mid 70's stuff on theres never a change in repitoire like there was from 1969-maybe 1973. i love hearing him sing my boy, your the reason im living, rags to riches , where no one stands alone and youll never walk alone amoung others. if someone starts selling them concerts where he sang a lot of rare songs they would sell. with elvis's unchained melody release i was excited when i seen where no one stands alone on it and i had to buy it even though i had to pay more than $100 for it.

His fans back then were narrow minded, the woman for the most part seemed more intersted in a scarf and a kiss, and probally couldnt tell you what he sang! he tried new stuff, yes he gave up too soon, he should have shoved the new stuff down there throat! lol

He also should leave Vegas for some time and go for World Tour, not working for people who didn't care at all what he's doing on stage...

The good news is that i don't believe that this particular show has ever appeared on a cd before! Some of the shows at this engagement were quite lengthy and Elvis did change the set list round a fair bit. I have never even had this show on cassette before!

Tony: this is the only good news. Otherwise expect the worst. Everybody know that these particular CDs are crap, like Unforgettable nights etc etc... there is at least 40 of such. These CDs are not worth a single penny. And it is unbelievable that this shit is more dicsussed (see number of postings) than recent fantastic CD AMERICAN WAY 4 or ACROSS THE COUNTRY VOL. 2 beauty. Mystery rider: not too flatering picture pls this is NOT from Vegas Dec. 75 but from March 76, Johnson City.

Excellent point mature. The shows became a scarf & kiss show, with music being secondary. You are right, most women couldnt care what he sang. It was a worship outing. The songs were rushed, the lyrics to classic songs mumbled. Imagine an artist with the claasic songs Elvis had throwing them away in 1 minute versions. Ive seen bar bands do better versions of Hound Dog than Elvis. Also with his song list, why the same songs over & over again? For every Olivia Newton John attempt he should have thrown in His Latest Flame, Devil In Disguise, Fool Such As I, Return To Sender, etc. The list goes on & on.

Still singing hound dog ,love me,teddy bear, dont be cruel in the same show in 76 and 77 is amazing to me,and they were done in throw away fashion, and why was teddy bear and dont be creul put together, and always sung in a fast pace,by the 70's he had so much material that he could call his own but instead made himself look like he was overratted, what really amazes me is the number of songs he never ever tried on stage, songs he himself recorded and in alot of cases had hits with, its like once he got a new song in his show it stayed forever, can you imagine what kind of cool live cd's we could have if there was more thought put into his shows and the fans at that time were more intersted in seeing Elvis perform instead of just seeing ELVIS nd getting that scarf and kiss, and maybe a Evlis button on the way out!

To ad d to what i already said, does anyone else think that his looks wasnt such a good thing, did it not take away from the music, i mean its kinda like today when a record company is thinking of signing someone,it does come to mind, how will they look on a cd cover, anyone remeber milli vanilli?music today is about sex appeal more than it is about talent, now im not saying looking good isnt a good thing, but i think back then it was more of oh that sexy elvis, aint he a hunk and less about what a great singer and look at that charisma,i believe this is sometime why people dismiss elvis as a overrated performer, now us fans know now how talented he was and we also see the chances missed!
