A World Premiere Exhibition featuring rare & unseen Elvis Presley Photographs from 1955 - 1957 in Honor of Elvis Presley's 85th Birthday
About this Event
Curated by Sam Milgrom, Mr Musichead Gallery will present a stellar photography collection culled from the archives of photographers Bill Avery, Roy Cummings, Bud Fraker, Roger Marshutz, Ernest Reshovsky, Gabi Rona, Joe Shere, William 'Popsie' Randolph, and Bob Willoughby.
Included in the exhibition are images from a live performance in Elvis Presley’s hometown of Tupelo, Mississippi (Mississippi - Alabama Fair, 1956), a rehearsal and performance on the Ed Sullivan Show, backstage images, candid shots, publicity shoot outtakes, Elvis with Bill Haley, Elvis on the set of the films 'Love Me Tender' and 'Jailhouse Rock', and a few images of a young Priscilla Beaulieu who was to marry Elvis a decade later.
On display will be over 40 estate-stamped, limited edition silver gelatin prints. All images are available to purchase in 4 different sizes.
The event will also feature:
- Live music from Los Angeles Rockabilly sensation James Intveld and his Trio playing early Elvis hits
- A fully restored 1957 Cadillac Eldorado convertible (the same model purchased by Elvis)
- Scotty Moore's original SIGNED Gibson Guitar (loaned by Guitar Center)
- Appetizers preferred by Elvis, prepared by Chef Vinh Nguyen - Specialty cocktails by Mixologist Ramon Camacho
"As a new decade begins, it seems a good time to look back and remember the birth of a rock and roll legend. The first popular music idol since Frank Sinatra in the early 1940s, Elvis represented and reflected the youthful angst, exuberance, and rebellion of the mid-1950s. These photos give a real sense of what a fresh and exciting talent he was and reveal the charisma that everyone was drawn to!" - Sam Milgrom, Gallery Owner
