Elvis's 1956 Bike Eyecatcher Of Harley Celebration

August 31, 2003 | Other
Harley-Davidsons in a variety of shapes and styles lined up in rows along the streets of Milwaukee for the master motorcycle maker's 100th birthday celebration. The centennial celebration is expected to draw 200,000 to 300,000 people to Harley-Davidson's home base over four days.

The absolute eyecatcher in the huge exhibition tent is Elvis Presley's 1956 orange-and-white Model KH. This motorcycle is the only Elvis-Harley actually owned by the company. Members of the Belgian fanclub Elvismatters can read a report on the history of the Elvis-Harley's, and see a dozen of rare Elvis/Harley-pics on the Members Only Area.

Just thought I could pass on facts that were passed on to me this year in Memphis. The photos of Elvis on his Harley (remember that one with him looking down with the cap on!) were all taken in the garden of Audobon Drive and in fact the motorcycle had no petrol in in and had to be wheeled in for the shots! Thought someone might appreciate me sharing that! We miss and love him.
