Elvis Week In Tupelo

August 02, 2000 | Other
Not only in Elvis "home town" Memphis is he being remembered, also in his birthplace Tupelo he is remembered. Fans have taken a greater interest in the early years of the man known to millions as "The King''. And this week many of the faithful will gather in his hometown to satisfy that curiosity at the second annual Elvis Presley Festival.

The festival is a three-day collage of concerts, street performances and other events that organizers hope will draw at least 15,000 visitors to Tupelo, Mississippi, a town of 35,000 about two hours drive southeast of Memphis, Tennessee.
