Elvis The Concert To Be Released On DVD?

April 26, 2006 | Video
In an interview with the Brazillian Elvis Collectors fan Club Ronnie Tutt said: "Another project that will be released in the near future is a DVD of the 25th anniversary concert from the Pyramid in Memphis. I’ve seen parts of it and it looks fantastic! I never thought it could be produced / done so well. I was pleasantly surprised". You can read the complete interview on the fan club's website.

For those who are not familiar with the Portuguese language, you can access the "ENTREVISTA" button in the left side of the screen. It has the interview with Jerry Scheff and Ronnie Tutt.

Can't wait, hope it will be out by August of 06! With a bonus of Lisa Video segment Don't Cry daddy with Elvis included! Let do it right EPE.

They should release a dvd deluxe set with both memphis shows (1997 & 2002) including rehearsals, interviews with the band and so on. Would be awesome to see that...

I have the bootleg DVD of the Memphis 2002 concert, and I still enjoy every minute of it. Especially the fifties-footage, and the movie-years footage is of great quality. The audience expected the regular Elvis The Concert, but the show turned out in something completely new and fresh. Everyone that played a part in Elvis's life on stage was there, accompanying him on the big video screen (tcb band, millie kirkham, boots randolph, sweet inspirations, the stamps, the jordanairs, the imperials, voice). I do really hope this one is going to be released. But how long is the wait for "...in the near future"?

I think our friends in South America would prefer if they took the Concert to their part of the world rather than see it on DVD.C,mon EPE, dont let our S.American fans down....again.

Bring it on! I was at the 25th show and it was FANTASTIC!

Amen to that Sean...We keep dreaming for Elvis The Concert in Brazil. Unfortunatly, EPE keeps ignoring us, despiste our countinuos efforts. We wont give up...

Oh, My Goodness!!! This would be awesome. maybe the new "Owners" of EPE are finally seeing the light and will release this. I had heard in previous interviews that the royalties and such would be too costly to EVER release this, but maybe by some miracle they have reached an agreement. I too, have the bootleg of the show and what is on there is fantastic! truly a very special evening..man, I hope we get this....!!??!! My fingers are crossed!

Thanks Sean. Just like Sergio posted here we won´t give up to bring Elvis The Concert to Brazil.

The release has nothing to do with Brazil. It´s a great woldwide DVD release FROM MEMPHIS regardless where the show has taken place before, or after...

Jesper, i know that but all i was saying was the fact it should play S.America.I really dont understand why EPE has ignored that part of the world with this tour.S.America was a very important part of Elvis's career, more important than Europe or Australia in fact. As a Elvis fan , its embarrassing if the tour doesnt go there.

Fair enough.

I saw Elvis The Concert in 2001 in Toronto Canada and the 25th Anniversary Concert at the Pyramid in Memphis. Both were phenomenal. Having this on DVD could only reinforce the memories. It would be impossible for the Concert Tour to satisfy everyone around the world. This would be the best way to reach the fans worldwide. I hope this is not just a rumour and that we actually have an opportunity to own it.

I believe if someone is willing to put up the cash, "Elvis-The Concert" would make a house call. I don't think EPE's is ignoring places, they just go where the money is, and that only makes sense.
Sean Ryan wrote on April 27, 2006
Sorry Steve.Got to totally disagree with you.If they held Elvis The Concert in one of the main football stadiums in Brazil it would be a complete sellout. They could make even more money by going to Brazil so it just doesnt make sense why they are ignoring that.Of course, they cant go to every country on the world but to ignore the whole of S.America is wrong. If they can take the tour all the way to Australia then why not S.America?
Steve B. wrote on April 27, 2006
Sean, you need to find a promoter that will put up the money for the show. If the money is there (up front), why wouldn't they do a show? I would love to see this show play all over the world. Certainly, all Elvis fans need to have the chance to experience it.
Narek wrote on April 28, 2006
Same problem is with Russia. Why don't they come to Moscow, it definetly would be sellout.

Queen, Rolling Stones, Metallica, Paul Macartney, Pearl Jam, Frank Sinatra, Kiss, Iron Maiden, U2, Rod Stewart, Pavarotti, Tom Jones, Paul Anka, Trini Lopez, Santana, Gloria Gaynor and many other came to Brazil and it was total success. Now we are aware that Creedence will play here in May. Even The Doors visited us in 2004. Elton John will come in 2007 to play in Copacabana. Madonna will come this year. Everybody comes. But not Elvis (that is bigger than any of these guys I mentioned). It is really frustating for so many people here. Really sad for so many loyal friends.

Well, I am only 17 but have been a die hard Elvis fan for 5 years now and i see myself being a die hard Elvis fan the rest of my life. Unfortunatly i have never been able to see the show for myself. I would do almost anything to go to one of these shows if they came anywhere around Michigan, heck i might even go if it was in Canada. the point is, is that, i am so happy this dvd is coming out. I know i will buy it for sure and it will be a great dvd even if i dont get to see the concert for myself in my lifetime. I think that we should just appriciate what EPE is doing for us and not make a huge deal about where they are going next. They will go where they are scheduled to go. We are lucky that they are still touring anyways. We are all true loyal fans of Elvis all the way to the heart and i dont think a concert should have any chance of screwing that up. However i still think the concert should come back to Michigan, and Brazil on its way here.

The Idea of the DVD is exciting. I bought a CD of 1999 tour and it really was fantastic, So would be the DVD I'm sure, especially if the footage is from Memphis concert, cos Memphis show always seemed special to me

EPE, please, look at the botton of the map. See that enormous country in there? You can put many Australias into it... That's us, brazilians, and we love Elvis too. And our neighbours do too - Argentina, Chile, Uruguai, Peru, etc. I can't imagine how many people would attend an Elvis show, but I figure something around a million.
