Following the unexpected massive success of "Heartbreak Hotel," this was at startling a debut record as any ever made, representing every side of Elvis' musical influences except gospel - rockabilly, blues, R&B, country, and pop were all here in an explosive and seductive combination. Elvis Presley became the first rock & roll album to reach the number one spot on the national charts, and RCA's first million dollar-earning pop album.

I've sold my wife to get this, so whether it be purple or pink I don't care..

Its not a cheap CD rip-off, but a well made LP and because of that, no excuses, it should be pink. Purple looks very awful.

I've always prefered albums over CD's. The album covers are pieces of artwork. The "Purple" ELvis will make a nice addition to my Elvis collection.
