Elvis In Ice

November 30, 2010 | Other

Elvis is Everywhere. This picture by ElvisMatters member Jan Costermans, taken at the Ice Sculpture Festival in Bruges (B) is proof again. The city of Bruges promises visitors of the Sculpture Festival (from November 26 - January 16th) "a trip to the Wonders of the World", created by 30 professional ice sculpturers. But be sure to wear gloves and a warm jacket.

The city of Bruges is my hometown . I'll visit this Ice Sculpture Festival and let you know how it really looks when you're standing in front of it. Only then one can judge, you can't judge from a picture ! Always El.

I think it is pretty good and a fine tribute to Elvis. It is easy to knock things like this, those people can obviously do better. Or maybe not.

Indeed, Benny Scott, this is a great thing. People around the world still remember Elvis as he is an imcomparable icon of our time. The mere fact that they depicted him is a wonderful tribute. From the photo I can see that it looks nice. Just use your imagination and 3D vision!

Hi TonyC and Natha, thanks to both of you for the posting ! The opening of the Ice Sculpture Festival was shown here on Belgian TV. When I saw Our Man on the screen it gave me goosebumps ! There are (ice)-artists from all over the world here in Bruges right now, and to see Elvis was part of the local slogan " a trip to the Wonders Of The World" makes one thing very clear : he is still (and will always be) the ONE and ONLY . In a couple of days I'll visit the festival and will try to find out from which country the artist is who made the sculpture. It gives me so much satisfaction (in any case more than Mig Jagger, he "can't get no...") to see this homage to the greatest artist the world has ever known !!! Take care buddies ! Always El.

It looks pretty good to me, though the angle at which the picture was taken is not very good. I rather enjoyed the movie "In Bruges"......sadly that is my only experience with the place.

Good remark King Kreole ! Indeed, the angle is bad. That's why , in a previous posting, I wrote "one cannot judge if you have only a picture as a source". Always El.
