Surely they can't be Elvis' specs on the piano. They look more like Buddy Holly's

What a crock! Priss is continuing to ride El's coattails just because she was a forced-upon wife for the king. As for LM, all along she tried to denounce the fact that she is the king's daughter. GET OVER IT!! YOUR FATHER IS ELVIS PRESLEY and WE ALL KNOW!! If she wants any respect, she needs to accept it and cherish it if she expects the public to accept her for who she is. As for Priss and LM selling EPE...don't get me started! How can you sell your father's legacy like that??

i hope and pray they dont put out the bad things elvis may have done he dont need any bad press. i hope its the real good stuff they talk about like how he always was generous to everyone he met and how many thousands of dollars he gave to families of police officers who were killed in the line of duty, how distraught he was over the kennedy and martin luther king assasinations, how happy he was when he was married and when lisa was born, and how he always felt he needed to do something for the poor and the less foirtunate. but i have a feeling we will be hearing how elvis spanked lisa for taking money from tabloid papers to take picture of her father and how she was rude to the fans or hear about how priscilla was roughed up a few times cuz she had to be cruel to elvis. she was not the clean woman we thought she was. she was always trying to get with jerry schilling i bet or other guys. heck she cheated on elvis more than he did it to her. there been many books about elvis' affairs and almost every woman said elvis was always a gentleman all he wanted them for was companionship and not the sex. priscilla on the other hand was always running around messing with that mike stone or whoever. they have no right to trash elvis that way and i have a feeling that book is gonna be more about exploiting the bad things elvis did. will i think anything less of elvis? heck no i love that guy hes human and everyone has skeletons in there closet. elvis is and always will be the king. hes a level below god and jesus cuz hes human and had done some bad things but he was better than anyone who has walked the earth since. he never hated anyone and treated everyone with great repect.

I haven't got much time for Lm but let me ay this.If if wasn't for PP then Elvis's Graceland would be aparking lot. When Elvis died he was penniless. There was alot of debt which Elvis's bank account could not repay. PP saved Graceland from the bulldozers. If this seems cold steel to some fans then take notice. Elvis was broke when he died it is as simple as that. PP had the courage to fight back and make Graceland a living testiment to the greatest entertainer/singer in the world. I have every respect for PP but alas not for LMP. By the way, Elvis divorced PP not the other way round.
Eddie White wrote on February 26, 2005
By the way folks. I e-mailed Graceland concerning the specs to ask PP about the specs. I have now got a reply from her saying that they were Elvis's reading glasses but never before photographed. I still maintain that they would hve suited Buddy Holly best. What a mistake.

Thank you, Eddie White. I couldn't agree more. I'm honestly get sick and tired of all the negative fans out there who put down people all the time. Priscilla Presley did an amazing job of keeping Elvis' legacy alive. If not for her, who knows? For goodness sake, if you haven't got something nice to say, don't say it at all. It gives the rest of the Elvis fandom a bad rep. Enough already! Celebrate--don't denigrate.

i agree with Eddie and doctor. I think it's amazing that we can visit Graceland anytime we want to and visit his grave for free in the morning. It shows that Priscilla has class and consideration for us fans. Thank you cilla. I like the cover.

I also agree with Eddie & the doctor. It' so easy to slag of someone/something when you don't know all the facts. If all this negative reaction keeps getting back to the powers that be, whether it's BMG, EPE, MGM etc, then one day, they'll probably pull the plug on everything. If you don't like whatever it is that's being put on sale, give positive comments on why you think a better picture or track whatever should have been used. But don't keep slagging off the people that are putting it out by talking about the money issues etc. Personally, I cannot see anything wrong with the book cover - it simply portrays the kind of personal things that a lot of people might have in their homes (OK forget the white piano), but why all the fuss about the glasses. Did they belong to Elvis or didn't they? Just accept the fact that they did (according to EPE) - I do not think they would risk putting something in the picture that wasn't fact. There are too many people around who knew Elvis and would say otherwise. And to Pacer1256, when were you around Elvis to know what glasses he wore or didn't. If as EPE states, they were his reading glasses, he's very unlikely to walk out on stage wearing them.

I hear fans say that priscilla as done a fanatatic job with graceland and this and that and yes she as to a point but dont forget she has a string of acountants and lawyers behind her as well.I do not think priscilla would have gone to all that trouble if money wasnt involved at the end of the day its the name that keeps her in the lifestyle shes in and nothing else and to all the fans who think priscilla and EPE will stop putting stuff out if we keep knocking everything they do well i would not worry about that because if it sells they will carry on.what annoys me is when elvis is at the top EPE always spoil the occasion i could present a list but i wont just look at the ALLC video and the #1 releases video showing our hero in all his glory there wasnt one not even a 30 second clip thats my point their dont care unless they get their cut and at that time couldnt have LMP & PP stepped in and saved the day yes they could but they didnt!!

Could not have put it better roytcbintheuk.Priscilla had to do something or she would not have got anymore money otherwise. When Elvis died she could not get anymore money from him. It was for Lisa's and her benefit when she opened Graceland not for the Elvis fans. I cant blame her for that she had a daughter to look after. And emjel I was joking about the glasses and its 1965.

The point of all this is "No one is holding a gun to your head to become an Elvis fan, or go out and buy everything". If you don't like it, don't buy it. We live in a democracy that is effectively controlled by money. If they have a good story to tell about Elvis, then they're going to sell it, and make money. But we all do something in this life to make money so that we can live. Nothing is perfect in this world- move on and stop bitching about everything that EPE/BMG do or don't do. Just enjoy Elvis and the lagacy that he left us.

The simple answer is if you don't like the cover of the book....don'y buy it.Or get the U.S. version.

I agree that Priscilla is NOT a Presley. The last I heard, she is living with someone called Garibaldi and has been for about 20 years. She also has a son, Navarone, but will not marry his father, probably because she would have to give up the Presley name. When a book comes out called Elvis by the Presleys, I wonder how that son feels? She is effectively distancing herself from her live-in lover and her son. I do believe that she did this with Lisa before she came into her inheritance and Priscilla was acting for the estate. The cover reflects the family Presley before the divorce which has not been the reality from 1973, 32 years by my count.

To Eddie White: Elvis divorced PP and not the other way round? Come on, it was Priscilla who wanted the divorce cause she met somebody else, everybody knows that. But this is just a little note on the side I wanted to mention.

Silvia. That's what I said if you read it properly. Elvis divorced PP!

RE Elvis' reading glasses. What apity he did'nt have them on when he was reading the scripts to some of those movies.
Jazz wrote on February 28, 2005
I will be buying the book because I'll love to see more pictures of Elvis with his family. FYI, Elvis filed for divorce because if Priscilla had filed for a divorce, she would have to put her address on the public records. therefore for secruity for his daughter and Priscilla, Elvis filed.
pacer1965 wrote on February 28, 2005
Thats so funny Old Shep what you said about Elvis' reading glasses. I wonder if we will get any rare photos of Elvis wearing them in the book.

Crap cover, nice to see the usual amount of thought going into the non-USA releases. It looks as though there might be some interesting photos and items shown for the first time in this book though, and I suspect that they will be the only new things in this book. I do hope this doesn't turn out to be a white wash, and has some genuine, accurate, insightful stories to tell. Having said that, given the fact that EPE can burn in hell for all I care, I don't think I want to line their already overflowing pockets further.
