ELVIS 2007 – The European Fanclub Tour

February 26, 2007 | Other
The 30th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death cannot remain unnoticed by the European fan clubs. In September and October 2007, the official European fan clubs, fully supported by The Original Elvis Cast, take an amazing show on the road: “ELVIS 2007 – The Original Cast”. This unprecedented show features the original band mates that worked with Elvis: The TCB Band, The Sweet Inspirations, The Imperials, Joe Guercio & Orchestra, featuring original Joe Guercio Orchestra Members. A similar show sold out the big ‘Frits Philips Concert Hall’ in May last year (picture), and will now be exported to Norway, Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, France and Switzerland. Lead singer on the entire tour is Terry Mike Jeffrey. The promoters have contracted a very special guest for The Netherlands – although we can’t tell his name yet, due to contractual obligations. For Belgium, the immensely popular Will Tura will do a special guest performance with his musical heroes, the Full Elvis Cast.

Tickets for this amazing live show go on sale on Monday, April 2nd. All details to follow soon on this website and Elvis Matters' brand new own website.

I hope the singer from The Netherlands will not be the same as last time. That was a real minor to my opinion. To Turbo: I just found out there seems to be some unwholesome interaction between the main Dutch and Belgium fanclub. Most likely this is the reason why some news is not mentioned. The above stated news is based on one fanclub only. Hopefully Elvis News will maintain an impartial stand and honors the name of the man it is all about: Elvis.

I think this site should mention ALL events and not only the events of friends. I always read this newssite with much intrests but now I think there is a strange thing going on. You can't just wipe out the two most important clubs of Holland and Belgium. Sure this event as menitioned is great I won't critisize that, but the events on9th an 10th of JUne in de Elisabethzaal Antwerpen and de Kunstmin in Dordrecht are great as well. Why is this hidden, I agree with Turbo on this one...Is somebody afraid of competition or something. We are talking about the TCB band here. Not some guys, no those guys who we all respect, now don't we? I thought we did....but it seems the people on this site don't give the TCB band credit for ALL their shows! It's really sad.

Sorry doesnt do much for me. because i like elvis it doesnt mean i have to like this lot sorry folks its time to retire. the fan clubs are going to be like dinosaurs extinct we have the web now and a lot of non fan club mags on the market. hope they have the oxygen and wheel chairs ready these people are getting on in years retire gracefully and remember ELVIS dont try and bring the good times back it all end up a laughing stock if this keeps up what are we going to end up with a 100 year old piano player and 100 year old backing group with 150 year old special guest as i said before sorry not for me . His music and films will keep his name alive not this type of thing. Yes Elvis Does Matter but not this.

Good news for all who can attend in Europe. In all I believe the European, Jap & Australian fans are much more aggressive and loyal elvis fans. What EPfan club presidents "worldwide" should start doing from now on, is "alarm" their general public media (newspapers, mags, publications, radio, TV etc) so that from Easter 2007 onwards their media begins to built up a pro-active positive campaign to bring our King back in the limelight for months to come and share "positive" stories on radio on TV and in Mags...talk as little as possible of his defaults or his being overweight...let the general public remember him as a true "world music icon" who merits as much great admiration as others (Frank, Tom, Englebert, Bing, Julio, Paul, Brown, Louis, etc etc) EP fans do not do "enough" to keep their King's image in the limelight and they rarely recommend or suggest actions to be taken by EPE Mgmt or BMG-DK. They'd rather complain about budget releases or bad marketing decisions by EPE/BMG.

Hi MR61, I don't know in which country you live or how old you are. Let me tell you this my friend: I went to see and hear the TCB band last year here in my country Belgium. Well buddy: they still sound GREAT and they still perform as a bunch of youngsters. Is it because a musician is more than 60 years old that he should retire? Give me break, you make me laugh! And what to say, for example, of Tony Bennet? How old is he? He still has an incredible voice! And Toots Tielemans who played and still plays with the biggest names in Jazz. The man is in his 80-ies, and he's a living legend. I hope you live long enough yourself, so one day you'll have to admit that a man in his 60-ies is still alive and kicking. No hard feelings! Always El

Dries, your first sentence just said it all. I hope EN takes notice. For years I am sending info to EN about the annual ElvisDisco in Amsterdam but after the first year EN stopped publishing this event. (Now after 10 years it has become the longest running and most infamous Elvis party of The Netherlands, but not a mention on this site). I hope the editors will take notice and change their policy. After all: maintaining websites or organising Elvis-events is only done for the sake of the Elvis fans.

The chairmen of the specific Belgian and Dutch fanclubs gave in clear words their opinion about this site. Therefore we decided to leave it up to themselves to inform the public about their events. We have a special section for events in the fan world section of this site in which we mention most events as we receive the information. Events with impersonators are not listed. Events with a guest that worked with Elvis in one way or another get an additional listing on the portal.

Do not really know where this is all coming from, but I do believe that each and everyone involved love Elvis and that is what it is all about! To Benny Scott; I completely agree with you about the 'older' generation of musicians. Even if these guys live to be a hundred years old & even if they come a hundred times to Belgium... I will always be in the front row shouting for them! Never forget they made history together with our beloved Elvis. And people, please, please let's not spoil this magical year 2007 by fighting. Elvis wouldn't have wanted this to be! We all love him so much, but sometimes I just don't see that in the reactions here and there. Now I ask you, what has this to do with loving Elvis? We all live but once and as Elvis said... you don't come back for an encore!

I'm an Elvis fan for many years now. Living in Belgium, I joined firstly the EPVK fanclub, later I became a member of Elvis Memories, I joined the UEPS and about five years ago Elvis Matters. Nowadays I'm still a member of both the UEPS and Elvis Matters. As an Elvis fan, I'll go to most of the nice events these fanclubs organize. In that respect, I'm not really interested which fanclub has organized the event, I just go to the events that attract me. When I'm buying Elvis stuff, I'll buy it where I can get it the cheapest or with the most attractive bonus. After all, I'm a fan of Elvis, not of the fanclubs. From an informational site as Elvisnews, one would expect this kind of objectivity as well. This website is consulted by Elvis fans that want to know about ALL the events that can be interesting for them. I think the programme which the UEPS has arranged for June is a very nice one and deserves publicity on a news site like Elvisnews. The Elvis fans don't need these fights between the fanclubs, for sure I don't. But I have to admit that the competition between them made Belgium probably the most interesting country for an Elvis fan to live in. I would like to thank both Elvis Matters and the UEPS for all the fun and joy they have brought to me during the years.
