Elvis 1977 Original 8mm Cine Reel For Sale

April 08, 2014 | Other

On Ebay as promoted,,, ... An original *UNSEEN* 8mm cine reel containing 40 minutes of great color footage of Elvis' show at the Municipal Auditorium on Austin, Texas on March 28th 1977 (8:30pm showtime). This incredible material was shot by a fan in the audience and it has remained totally unreleased for all these years. The footage is very impressive and it has original matching sound in good quality. Elvis does a superb show wearing the Arabian / King of Spades jumpsuit.

This really is a unique piece of Elvis history! The reel will come with a DVD of the performance. The DVD is a direct transfer that has been only in my collection. It has NOT been distributed or released and I have no intention to do so. This will be YOUR footage alone. Being sold by Essential Elvis UK (and presumably from the collection of Rex Martin- RIP). The price is £2,000.

"Elvis does a superb show wearing the Arabian / King of Spades jumpsuit." Oh Yes. For sure! Better only Milli Vanilli singing play back! P.S. Lex what a great comment. Imperial!

Rare amateur film keeps sporadically appearing which makes me wonder whether any fans on this forum has read somewhere or it is strongly suspected that one of the 'great' collectors may have film of either of the two 1961 concerts. This one on offer here does not convey other than it is in colour, how jumpy/steady it may be, or how far from the stage it is.

The Screen shot on e-bay looked like it was filed a fair bit back in the audience, the colours looked a bit washed out, but I am sure in the right hands the colour can be corrected. The Kansas City 74 footage is proof of that. but priced beyond any reality of anyone bidding for it. now its been withdrawn too. Would make an interesting DVD release in the right hands, shame to keep it lock up for another 37 years, by then who's really going to be interested in it?
