I wasn't waiting for this release either, certainly since I won't be in the booklet anyway, because I'm sure they didn't like my comments on ALLC :-). But why the hell complain so much about it? Just don't buy it if you don't want it!

I just think it's a good idea to have put the names and comments of the fans. It makes this CD a little different. A plus for some. I agree that except the fans comments there is not much really new material but it still makesa good buy. Only 2 bad things: As I have heard that there are also some bad comments it means that they have put the comments of everybody instead of choosing only the best ones like they have advertise whn we had to fullfill the commnts. Second bad thing is the price that I find a little high and also that the price can differ from the simple to the double price following the source. But in general I found it a good item but again those who don't like, don't have to buy it, it's our choice.

What stingy wingers some people are. I think I'll manage to scrape the huge amount of £13.99 together. I mean I'm only getting a collectors piece, with my name on it.

The Special Edition of the '30 No.1 Hits' is a FANTASTIC release and a COLLECTOR'S ITEM to boot. This release was the brainchild of BMG(UK) to acknowledge a Landmark in Elvis' phenomenal career and to pay homage to Elvis' fans.

Can someone post the pages or names of all the people whose comments are included, how many are there in all? I think the price is set ridiculously high for this set, especially as the first one is now selling at about half the price.Just whom is this set being targetted to, if not the hard core fans ? I dont see a casual buyer picking up this set just for the alternate takes on the 2nd disc.Nine million sales and still trying to wring out more big money. No thank you BMG.I am not buying. I dont have that much blood or money to spare.

Anyone is welcome to splurge their money on whatever they like. Remember it is becasuse of "generous customers" that BMG has a field day making money off re-re released Elvis material. BMG put out a commemorative CD celebrating a success :the "bonus" is a CD containing material that 90% of the hardcore fans already have (and ofcourse to a few their names on the booklet ).Calculate the production cost ( keep in mind newspapers giving away free Elvis CDs so you know how much it costs) and then justify the price BMG have set for this "collectors item", released mind you as a "Thank you to fans !" It is this cynical manipulation is what I and others are complaining about. Not all have the purchasing capacity or are prepared to sacrifice for an "collectors item" containg 100% previously available /purchased material.

Honestly, i don't see the real problem. The Stones did the same thing with the 40 Licks and put out a SE too. So just buy it if you want. It's not a bad idea after all, and i agree with Brian Quinn as it is "the brainchild of BMG(UK) to acknowledge a Landmark in Elvis' phenomenal career and to pay homage to Elvis' fans". Long, long live the King.

I totally agree this is a rip off they are charging god knows how much for a non entity bonus disc a little book cover and a disc that they couldn`t sell singularly. Stuff this, why not use the profits to promote 2nd to none. I also want 2nd to none on DVD audio.PLEASE

Don't buy it if you don't like it, everyone knew what was on it. It's a nice item for the CD collector. I mean this is marketing guys, this is the strategy from BMG. If they don't give us this kind of CD's, then the Elvis market will be over, it take a while but it will be over.

A complete rip off, I totally agree with other comments, it wouldn`t be so bad if the 2nd disc had anything interesting. Even if I am in the book I`ll be a reluctant buyer. Can`t we have 2nd to none on DVD audio instead
