warned us because...

I never heard of any of these people. However having said that, if they are popular younger artists, this would be the vehicle to get younger people to discover Elvis. The crappy soundtracks & redundant live shows or the Camdens will not do it.

You know that I am very much in favor of tasteful remixes, but boy-oh-boy... I have heard examples of these tunes, and they make Spankox sound like a very conservative mixer, compared to what "they" have produced on this compilation. And the worst (or is it the best!) news is that not even Elvis's voice is used!!! It is a mishmash of noises and voices. At times not even the song is recognizable. (I had to look at the title to figure out which song was being played!). My advice stay away at arm length from this release, and cherish your Spankox re:versions CD's like you did your Rockin' Rebel LP's many moons ago...

I have not heard this, I've never heard of any of the artists and I don't much like "elektro" music (assuming I think I know what that is....) But, if Elvis inspired this group of people to do something creative, well, good. It is hard to say, not having heard it, but it seems there is always this problem with Elvis. The best example is that CD from some years ago called "The Last Temptation of Elvis." You had legitimate tributes on there--people like Bruce Springsteen and Robert Plant and Paul McCartney doing songs Elvis made famous and doing them pretty well, or at least trying and clearly respecting Elvis. But then you had some total crap "artists" doing "No Room To Rhumba..." and seemingly trying to make fun of Elvis. Spankox, I'll give him, at least seems sincere....just not very good. Judging by the songs chosen (Jailhouse Rock 3 times!?) it seems like at least good tracks were picked. I hope, even if this sucks really bad, that at least these people were sincerely inspired by Elvis and not just trying to make him a joke.
