Dutch Documentaries

The latest edition of the Dutch "Almost In Elvis" magazine is out. This edition documents the many comebacks of Elvis, originally titled 'If You Don't Come back". The design of each edition is adjusted to the theme of that edition. This edition is published on a glossy A4 format. This year two more editions will be published on Elvis' September 2, 1974 concert and a December edition on Elvis' movies. Also interesting for the Dutch fans, on monday, August 16th, Dutch television station NPS will show the documentary "Looking for Colonel Parker" in which reporter Constant Meijers tracks down the myth of Elvis's former manager. The documenntary starts at 23:50 pm till 00:45 am. NET 5 will show "This Is Elvis", starting at 21:30.

I just checked the ratings. This is Elvis at Net 5 scored 320.000 viewers which is more then the program before and after. Looking for Colonel Parker scored only 78000 viewers, but then again it was programmed at midnight.
Some errors in this docu: Colonel was not born on June 28th 1909, but June 26th. Elvis did not die ofcourse on the 17th of August, but the 16th. Just some errors....

Thanks for the info Jorrit! Wow you shot some very rare footage, if this is the only footage of the colonel in the casino!

This video was shot in june 1993 around the birthday of the Colonel. It is the only video ever shot of him in a casino as far as I know.

Hey Jorrit, can you tell us which year it was, that the footage was filmed about colonel in the casino?

Looking for colonel parker is filmed on 16mm film which gives it a special look. It is made by Dutch journalist (volkskrant) Costant Meyer who has a lot of knowledge about the Colonel. He also met the Colonel once in Las Vegas. I did too, but I had a videocam with me. The footage that I filmed that day in the casino in the Las Vegas Hilton can be seen in this docu, as I sold it to Constant.
