On November 17, 2003 Don Gibson died, he was 75. Elvis recorded his song “I Can’t Stop Loving You”.
In the studio Don Gibson recorded songs with some of the same people Elvis worked with; Hank Garland, Buddy Harman, Chet Atkins, Bob Moore, Harold Bradley, Millie Kirkham and The Jordanaires. Don Gibson was introduced into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001.

A great shame, a brilliant singer/songwriter who maybe hasn't had the recognition he deserved. Hopefully that will change sooner rather than later.

He was my Dad's favorite. At the time (the 60's) I didn't know that he was working with many of the same musicians that Elvis recorded with. He had a great voice.
