Devil In Video

October 28, 2020 | Other

Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, released the first official music video for Elvis Presley’s '(You’re the) Devil in Disguise'. First released as a single in 1963, the song continues to garner new fans especially during the Halloween season.

The new video was created by illustrator, animator and director, Jimmy Simpson.

In addition to the music video, “(You’re The) Devil In Disguise” is also a part of the new Elvis Instagram filter & Facebook lens. This filter/lens lets the user toggle between an angel, a devil and Elvis, all with a shake of the head – perfect for Halloween.

I hope it's only the first of many more to come. It's a wonderful idea and I think the animation is awesome. In the comment section on YouTube a lot of people share the desire to see the next cartoon song featuring Elvis in it. I'd love that too.

Takes a bit of getting used to, as it is something totally different, (well it is as far as I am concerned). Perhaps continuing a recent topic, this approach will get 'others' interested in Elvis, assuming they become aware of its existence.

personally speaking, I don't like the animation, especially when the girl dances. I'm up for anything that puts our boy back into the charts or gain new fans and I'm happy that this has been tried out. But to me, it looks really cheap and poorly animated. I think they are trying a Scooby Doo style thing but....Na!

I really like it. To show Elvis's music to a new generation is worth everything. Its enjoyable and like a fairytale scene.

At least they didn't ruin the music, but the video is not of the best quality. I bet it will give Elvis at least a million new fans.

I know you are trying to be controversial Lex and a little tinker, but a million new fans is ridiculous. I cannot see more than 950,000 at best !!!
