Dennis Roberts Passed Away

July 31, 2007 | People
Dennis Roberts, Elvis’s optician, passed away. Dennis Roberts owned the Optique Boutique where Elvis bought over 400 pair of customized sunglasses with the TCB lightning bolt on both sides. Dennis also prided himself with making some of the TCB necklaces for Elvis.

According to his biography, Elvis placed his first TCB around his neck and asked him to make “12 exactly identical necklaces”, which he did. No further details are known at this stage.

RossII, two things: 1. Who's thinking about "going", talk about yourself please, you're not really a good luck charm.. 2. Bit tasteless of jumping from condolences to an FTD request?

I worked for Dennis at the Sunset Blvd. Optique Boutique for several years. I'ts very sad to hear he has passed. I learned a lot working for him, and was given the opportunity to meet some very interesting people, let alone do some creative work. I have a lot of memories of those days...all good. God bless him and don't you just know him and his buddy are up there Taking Care of Business.

I'm not in the habit of speaking ill of the dead BUT Dennis Roberts chose to end his career by selling cheap "Made in China" garbage on eBay and generally just ripping people off.

I ONLY MET DENNIS ROBERTS ONCE ALTHOUGHT I HAD Talked to him several times on the phone. I have heard good and bad about him but, all i can say is he was a very generous person with me. when i recovered "elvis's jewelry" that was stolen here in las vegas dennis called me almost immediately and promised my a pair of idenical glasses of elvis's and he and steve rossi (and his wife) met me for lunch and he sure kept his word. I am very proud to wear them to special occassions and i will always remember him as a man that did not have to do anything for me,but, he did. I wish I had known when his funeral was as I would have loiked to attend. God Bless him and my best wishes to his family. "DEPUTY HOUNDDOG"

Now with The King..... I am deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend Dennis Roberts. We knew each other for 28 yrs. I was his secretary at his Optique Boutique corporate headquarters on sunset Blvd.. He treated me like family, he was like a brother to me. He was very creative and very funny. He named me The Crease Corleone, and has always called me that. My boyfriend David and I just took him to breakfast a month ago when we were in Palm Springs. He was his usual humurous self and showed us some of his newest creations. He is with The king now and The creator, I will miss him.

Never too late for an opinion..Dennis Roberts made my glasses since 1981, we finally got a chance to meet in May,in Palm Springs at an "Elvis" Contest, where I had a pair of Roy Orbison's Glasses to show him. Although the contest itself sucked, taking about the Real Elvis again was worth the visit. I will miss his Emails/Jokes...
