A pity they didn't use the original film poster. It was very atmospheric for the time.

For me the best movie ever made about my hero, so far. Russel plays Elvis very well and in some shots he looks very much like him. Hope it will be also released in Europe!

Bad movie, full of inaccuracies. I'd never watch it again, ever.

Can somebody tell me out there if this is the movie where we have some band playing some great sounding Sun Studio's songs as recorded by Elvis as the background music to this movie and Mr. Russel performing? Is this the movie backed by Dick Clark Productions? If so, I'll buy this in a heartbeat!

probably the best or one of the top Elvis biographical films! Kurt did the best job on playing Elvis!

I liked this movie, and Kurt was very good, but they had many of their facts wrong throughout the film. I hope someday someone makes a serious Elvis movie like the Johnny Cash, or the Ray Charles films.

I bet die hard fans of Johnny Cash and Ray Charles are complaining about those movies too...

I hope this is the whole movie without scenes being deleted like they were on the VHS i have of this movie. I will buy this DVD because i think Kurt Russell has done one of the best portrays of Elvis and there have been lots of actors trying to play Elvis. No one will ever be perfect playing Elvis because he was a very unique human being but i think Kurt Russell did a good job.

Yes Kurt did a fine job, but the movie stunk.

I bought it and was pleased with it overall. We all know the movie is inaccurate in a lot of ways, not anymore inaccurate than "Walk The Line". It's a good solid movie. The performance by Russell was very good. Unlike Rhys-Myers, he doesn't come off like a whining sissy. I just wish that the REAL Elvis music was in the film. I wish I had the time and technology to use the original Elvis records and overdub them, make it work somehow as I'm not a fan of Ronnie McDowell's Elvis impression in most ways. Basically what I'm saying is is the 2005 CBS miniseries would have had Kurt Russell in his 20's, it would be the definitive version. The film is not as cleaned up as I would have liked to have seen it. Also I really wish that the commentary was Kurt Russell and John Carpenter NOT McDowell and his cousin Edie Hand. it's unbearable at times. McDowell's commentary is interesting at times, but her's is just annoying to me. It sounds like my grandma doing the commentary. I saw some scenes in it that I don't ever remember seeing before, and I had the TV version and the theatrical version. So that was cool. What was not cool was at the end of the film, the song "Burnin' Love" just being completely ommitted. It wasn't in the TV version I had, but still all original film elements should have been included here. On a scale of 1-5, I give the movie a 4 as a film but the DVD a 3.5 for the reasons I mentioned.
