These reissues are like cockroaches. The multiply & you can't kill them. Covers are really cheesey looking.

Never thought Id see these classic 50's songs reduced to non-classy cheap budget releases like these. Remember how great they were all properly represented on the King OF Rock & Roll 50's CD boxset in the 90's. A thing of the past.

I agree, Steve, but the public domain law makes a lot of sense, too. Those original records had their run and the original artist and the immediate family have all been paid (and continue to be outside of the UK) many times over, plus the CD era is so gone that I don't think we'll ever see these in US stores... So it all ends up as not a huge deal. I know what you mean but in ten years and beyond, Beatles fans, Dylan and Pink Floyd fans will also be crying foul, but they too will have to deal with it. The public domain law eventually swallows whole all art. P.S. I have to say that the "Jailhouse Rock" cover with the '68 uses a very striking photo. At least it's not using that '62-63 era shot I've seen on some Hayride sides!
