Colonel Parker’s Boy

July 15, 2008 | Music
Just released on the Memphis Flash label is a new Cd titled "Colonel Parker's Boy". According to the information the CD contains many never before released versions of Elvis recordings from the 1960's and 70's. For the first time ever on CD is the new duet version of "Edge Of Reality" plus two never before heard interviews with Elvis' manager Colonel Tom Parker from 1987. The sound quality should be very good on all the tracks.
Tracklisting: Green Green Grass Of Home (Alternate mix) Fairytale (Undubbed) It's A Matter Of Time (Alternate mix with strings) Pieces Of My Life (Alternate mix) And I Love you So (Alternate mix) US Male (Alternate mix) All That I Am (Alternate mix) I'm Leavin' (Alternate mix) Slowly But Surely (Alternate mix) Almost Always True (Remix) Help Me Make It Through The Night (Long version) That's What you Get For Lovin' Me (Long version) Early Morning Rain (Long version) Edge Of Reality (Unreleased duet version) Colonel Parker Interview # 1 Colonel Parker Interview # 2

Does anybody know what "long version" means? Artificially extended via computer? If not, how much longer? "Alternate mix": with the Stray Cats playing along? A bit more information would be helpful.

it is quite weird to call a cd like that. first was the singer, then the manager

Thanks for the warning! Sounds like those Tiger Man/ Legendary Performer thieves, but it looks worse. Never thought I could say something positive about those series :-)

wayup you are right, I mistyped...¦-) what's more appropriate then: fastbuck media?

C-R-A-P. I wonder who will buy this? One of the most irritating CD's ever.

One of the first vinyl bootlegs I ever bought was called 'Colonel Parker's Boy' but it had stuff from the Sullivan shows on it, not crap like this made up on someone's computer. How times have changed - you can't even trust the bootleggers these days!

This is, indeed, disgusting, but Harvey : don't condemn all them "Bootleggers". You know, as I do, that there are exceptions, Madison, Fort baxter, just to name a few, and there are more who release good stuff. Always El.

I have to disagree with all of you. Ok, I don´t like the colonel either, but at least the material is quite interesting, not one son from the fifties. Finally. And really, who cares what the album is called. If it´s good, you will get it.
