Closing Night Cover Art

August 20, 2004 | Music
It seems that the cover art of the upcoming Follow That Dream release "Closing Night" is a mock up. E.I.N. mentions that the label will probably use live pictures from Dutch photographer, Laurens van Houten who photographed the September 1973 shows.

I don't care for soundboard recordings and generally speaking I could care less what the cover looks like. But this one is really nice. They should keep it.

Unlikely to be in stereo, as these shows were not recorded with the intention to release them! The fact that we are getting this material at all is an absolute bonus and we must all try to support our lable in order to keep this great series of collectors' releases going for as long as possible. We can't expect miracles, just be grateful this stuff still survives and is being released!

To Paul from France; Where have you been?! FTD have released TONS of '60's out-takes. CD's such as Fame and fortune, Run on, Long lonely Highway, Spinout, Frankie and Johnny, Studio B etc. And on the main lable, there has been Such a night (essential Elvis vol. 5), Close up, Today, tomorrow and forever. You need to catch up!!

concidering the vast amount of pictures which could be used i really think they should use one.Ok this one is different but i would rather have a very nice concert picture then one of a sign, :-( I too agree we must support everyone of there releases they do such great jobs.Well done ernst and the ftd team :-)

I'm not a great fan of all these concerts that look all the same, but this one has "Trouble" and some other gems, so I think I'll be happy with it. I hope FTD will release some stuffs from his studio work, mainly in the 60s, providing there is something listenable on the shelves. Bur maybe we already have almost everything. Well... about the cover... not bad for a Las-Vegas concert.
