The new release from the Madison label is "Closing Night - February 1970". For the first time ever, this show will be available from start to finish, with the best-ever audio source, direct, reel-to-reel transfers to DAT. The sound quality is excellent, given the limitations of early '70s soundboard recordings, and definitely superior to all previous, incomplete releases of this concert.
The 16-page booklet contains relevant notes, while the cover art of "Closing Night - February 1970" is a beautiful homage to Presley's 1970 RCA LP "On Stage - February 1970". Several bonus tracks are included, though previously released, as they are the perfect compliment to this project.

Why cant FTD release a show from Feb 1970 from start to finish? What is the problem? This would be one of the few live Vegas shows I would buy.

Steve i agree,this was before vegas became boring and he was still performing every song with passion and raw energy,why does ftd not release such shows? who know',now i wonder if madison releases the other show as announced for the upcoming high voltage release!

Having it released on FTD is often as good as having an "official" FTD release. The attention to quality is equivalent and some would say higher. Madison always furnishes top-quality sound and terrific photos along with learned and entertaining notes by a resident specialist, all packed into a full-colour booklet. To me, Madison releases, like the best imports like Straight Arrow, always compliment official releases, so run, don't walk and get 'em while they last! Some Madisons remains AWOL on the used market. Why? Because no one wants to give them up! More of Elvis in 1970? I'm buying!

You Mean having it released on Madison is like having it on ftd i think,as far as quality madison beats ftd,they give you 16 page booklets and ftd gives you? except for the classic seris (eye roll)ill be getting this one,and also the wild weekend volume, to be honest i hope madison releases the opening show!

i first saw elvis 2/13/70. he was awesome! it's hard to remember details when you're almost 13, (and over 35 yrs ago) but i remember how electrifying and handsome he was. and his voice was great. WOW. i really would like to get this CD!

This appears to be a quality product. Nice to have an entire concert on a cd that has ex. sound & a really nice cover. And it's from 1970 when his live shows were high energy. Nice.
