Claude Thomspon Died

Steve Binder, producer/director of Elvis's 1968 TV special, has informed us that Claude Thompson, who was the show's makeup artist and one of its choreographers, has died. Thompson was also in front of the camera, dancing solo in the opening of the gospel production number. Says Binder, "Claude was one of the most gentle souls I knew."

So another piece of a legendary event passed away. Rest in peace Claude Thompson.

Hello, I know little about dancing but I always liked Claude's turn during "Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child" - so graceful and he had such a look of reverence in his eye. Rest peacefully, Claude.
