Who in their right mind buys this crap? Constant recycling of songs on legitimate cd's re-done in different packaging by some hackneyed outfit. Don't think so and why do we keep putting this crap out on Elvis News giving these outfits free promotion. Enough already.

Cruiser621.......Why oh why when new imports are discussed on this forum do we always end up with someone saying it's 'crap'?....you are under no pressure to buy any products highlighted on this web-site and if you look at the bootleg/import industry over the years it's full of re-issues,new packaging etc so it's something we as Elvis fans/collectors have to live with.Have to say 'Venus's' last 2 book/cd releases were excellent so for me this will be in my mailbox soon....and i am pretty sure i am in my 'right mind'. As for Elvisnews giving 'free promotion' to these release i have to disagree with you here as anybody who keeps up with Elvis releases official or unofficial will have known of this release long before Elvisnews has highlighted and after all i have always assume this web-site was set up to keep us informed on the shakers and movers in the Elvis world......check other Elvis wesites and they have all mentioned this release along the same lines as Elvisnews so are you saying they also are giving 'free promotion' to the import industry or are you just highlighting Elvisnews. Really please don't buy this if you feel that way and let this release run it's course and before long we will have other release importwise to voice our opinion's on.

I can understand the opion of cruiser. He's has it by the right end. There are too much cd-r's on the market where you have to pay 20 euro for what you can do on your own pc. Labels as STAR Hardluck and many more ripps us off with spcalled collector items. Most of their releases contains nothing new.Or am i deaf or blind?. But with this one i can only say i like the idea. And we get something new ( i guess) So be happy with these

drjohncarpenter0117 very well said, you r right when a new release appears there will be always somebody like mr.cruiser saying it's "crap"Cruiser621 are you an Elvis fan? or... this a good release and certainly not "crap" jeeezz

No. It's crap. Total crap from the coupling of these two releases to the cheezy labels. Total crap.

is that oldscudders comment? let me see.... so it is..and i'm not surprised hardly read those anyway, because they are predictable

I think that some guys missed the point here. Cd 1 (Christmas) contains unreleased outtakes in stereo. CD 2 (Today) is released on FTD, but judging the sound samples, reviews and fan reports, the sound is SUPERB and much better then on the official edition. And in stereo too! The booklet is probably cool and informative, full of nice photos. So, I don't get it. What's crap here, gentlemen? I oredered my copy, anyway.

Totally agree with the right attitude comments on this release and the soundbites i have heard makes it for me a good enough reason to buy it.I understand also the frustration by some people on the never ending re-re-release sound/package saga but again i make the point it's what we have to put up with as Elvis fans/collectors?..........after all it's what RCA/BMG/SONY etc have been doing for a long time now.

It's too hars to say that it's crap, but i definitely won't buy it for the few unreleased takes which will be reissued by FTD in the near future. As for the sound quality,i still haven't heard the sound samples but there are many acetates on this release and it's hard to believe that crappy acetates sound better than multi-track recordings... But even if they do,i will rather save my money this time.

although I find the layout of a Christmas and Todayset combined a bit weird, the 2 cd's are great. the undubbed master takes are a real treat and the sound is great. a bit disapointing is the undubbed master take of pieces of my life, of which the first verse has the backing vocals in the front instead of Elvis but it later on in the song improves..
