Bringing It All Back Home Out Now

December 14, 2009 | Book
Out now is the 2nd release from the Venus label titled "Bringing It All Back Home" featuring two concerts recorded in Elvis’ hometown Memphis.

From the press-release

The first CD features the matinee performance of March 16, 1974 , his first live appearance in Memphis since 1961. The source used was the first generation soundboard tape for optimum sound quality. The second CD features the only performance of Elvis at the Mid-South Coliseum in 1975. For the first time EVER this concert will be as complete as possible with the inclusion of ‘’ An American Trilogy ‘’ ( ending spliced with version from the previous night ), and you’ll be able to hear this show as recorded that night, without any addition of reverb or any other sound gimmicks.
This release as our previous set Black Angels In Vegas will come to you in a beautiful full color, hardcover book with many pictures and liner notes, spread over 132 pages. Here is your chance to get both shows in the best sound quality ever, in the ultimate package, so …… bring them all back home for good !!!

Leaving the sound discussion aside....the two shows are really good..!!

Two excellent live shows from Elvis's adopted hometown. The audio was pretty amazing on the original releases, so any improvement makes this set even more desirable - not to mention the fact that Venus's first book was an excellent read with great pictures. Hey Santa - slip this one under the tree for me. I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

I've just listened to the sound sample of T.R.O.U.B.L.E. and i'm shocked. The sound quality of the 1975 show on this new release is awful. It's flat and totally lifeless. Very-very poor. It was sooooo sooooo sooooooo much better on LET ME TAKE YOU HOME! If you can't improve something, then re-release it in the same sound quality, but don't make it inferior!!!! Idiots.

The sound will never be as good as DAE. I met the guy who did those. Jurgen K.. He spent hours and hours in the studio to get the kind of resonance the specific building should have given. The result a sound quality that was never equalled by BMG or any other bootlegger, and certainly not the lazy type that's releasing this . So don't buy this, you can probably get it for free off the internet, and get the proper version by DAE.

Wiebe: "Jurgen K. He spent hours and hours in the studio to get the kind of resonance the specific building should have given". This is BS. What he used was reverb and his sound was totally unnatural. Reverb overdose. "The result a sound quality that was never equalled by BMG or any other bootlegger". Another BS. BMG sound engineers can surpass DAE any day.

Very interesting postings, What Now, ..... .... ? Shall I buy the box because I won't get the 'original' CD 1?

What can i say? I have to agree with Linda. The DAE version wins hands down. I understand that some people don't like reverb, maybe it's unnatural, but at least it sounds good and it's clear. Unlike this new version. The first Venus CD-book release was quite good,if you don't count the mispellings in the book. I'm sure that this book is be ok,too, but the sound quality of CD2 is terrible. It's flat and dull. However,i don't want to put down the Venus label. Let's hope next time they will do a better job.
