Bob Heis Passed Away

March 25, 2012 | People

Sad news. Bob Heis has passed away last Saturday. Bob visited concert after concert and soon became one of Elvis's regular photographers and as a result, was given many of front row sets with an occasional pass from the security to film Elvis up close during these performances. Bob was present in Memphis for almost every Elvis Week, selling some of his great Elvis-shots and 8 mm videos. Our condolances to his family and his wife Diane.

I sopke with and knew Bob for many years. In fact, I'll always be eternally grateful for a famous shot Bob took of Elvis kneeling down on stage in Cincy while I tried to trade a stuffed brown and white hound dog for a scarf. We've shared many a laugh as I told him I had my share of disbelivers over the years as he had trying to get people to believe he was the "Bob" in "OK, Bob" before Polk Salad at Madison Square Garden. R.I.P. my friend.

What a sad loss. He took some great photos of Elvis, from the stage. Maybe Graceland can buy up his photo negitives /archieves and share his art (photos) of Elvis with the fans, and both his legacy and Elvis' Legacy Lives on.

Rest in peace, Bob. I had the chance to buy your own magazine (newsletter) from the first to the last. Also you provided me with really wonderful shots of Elvis on stage. I was happy to meet you on August 18th, 1977 just after the funerals. May God bless you and your family.
