BMG Deletions Begin This Month

January 20, 2002 | Music
As previously announced BMG are to undertake a massive cull of their global catalogue. The following deletions have been announced by BMG in the UK, some will be through natural wastage like "Double Features", and others will simply be deleted at the end of this month.

Over 50 titles are being axed at the end of January. Already, we know that once stocks of the "Double Features" series sells out no new duplications will take place, and two titles "Frankie & Johnny", and "Trouble With Girls" are now no longer available. CD's to be axed this month include both version of "Artist of The Century", "Best of Artist of the Century", "50 Greatest Hits", "Live Greatest Hits", "Always on My Mind", "Blue Suede Shoes", "Golden Records Vol 1 - 5", "The Essential Collection" (expect the Essential series to go next month), all twelve of the "Millennium Masters", "Classic Elvis", "Love Songs", and "Gospel Favourites".

In other territories all domestic releases will be axed, and the main catalogue will be trimmed back in the months to come.
