Blue Suede Shoe Ceremony To Mark Site Last Elvis Concert

June 26, 2007 | Other
Hoosiers will be able to remember Elvis Presley today, thanks to a giant blue suede shoe. The shoe will be unveiled at Market and Alabama streets near the former Market Square Arena site at 11 a.m. The shoe is in honor of Elvis Presley's last live performance: June 26, 1977. After the unveiling, the shoe will be moved to the West Plaza outside Conseco Fieldhouse.

It's a shame there wasn't notice about this a few days ago. Most of the fans in Toledo could have been there to celebrate this event or turn it into an event, if necessary!

The shoe idea sounds kinda' corny. How 'bout a statue of our man!

Thank God it's a shoe and not a statue, 'cause it may look like the Star Wars Bust! :S
