Best Sold Singles Of The Twentieth Century

January 01, 2000 | Other
At the end of this century all kinds of lists are compiled, some are interesting, some not. We thought this one is since Elvis really was a singles-artist, and is not found in any "Album of the Century" list. The top ten of the twentieth century:

Candle In The Wind - Elton John (37 million)

White Christmas - Bing Crosby (30 million)

Rock Around The Clock - Bill Haley (17 million)

I Want To Hold Your Hand - The Beatles (12 million)

Hey Jude - The Beatles (10 million)
It's Now Or Never - Elvis Presley (10 million)
I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston (10 million)
Hound Dog - Elvis Presley (9 million)

I'm A Believer - The Monkees (8 million)

(Everything I Do) I do for You - Brian Adams (8 million)

The list isn't disappointing for Elvisfans we think, two singles in the top ten, just like The Beatles. In general Rock and Roll seems to have made it's mark on this century's music.
