Behind The Scenes Of That's The Way It Is

October 04, 2005 | Video
After out-takes of "On Tour" surfaced and were released on various multi DVD(R) sets now out-takes from "Elvis: That's The Way it Is", not used in the "Special Edition" release, surfaced. This material has been edited down to four hours deleting all the mute and irrelevant footage and will be released by Dawn from the Czech Republic (as they did with the "On Tour" material). Whilst the release is not authorized, apparently all the legal and mechanical copyright fees have been paid. Apparently the quality is much better that the "On Tour" material currently available.

Yes i have seeb BOTH types of material both bad and good quality from 1970 ~+1972 the thing crying out from this material is that it needs urgent 'editing' and if the QUALITY can be kept up(i.e. from sources WITH the screen counter!) then it's WELCOME!¬

This is information overload. Could some help me answer the following questions: 1. I've seen that there are different versons of the EOT outtakes (notably "the making of..." and "the outtakes"). Some say these are of good quality (8/10 compared to reg DVD), others that they are disappointed. What is true? Is there a difference between these versons? 2. There marked is full of THWII box-sets (10-12 DVDs). Again the write-ups are telling us different things: some say they are almost without actual sound, others that they are sensational. What is true? Is it these DVDs this article is referring to (released by Dawn from the Czech Republic) or should we wait for the latter? Couls somebody please help us amateurs!

As far as know, there is a 10 DVDr box in the import market, that contains, the 1st 5 dvds rehearsals from the MgM Lot and the showroom. The others 5 contains 5 shows starting 10 of August. I don’t have them, yet, although I was told that it could, in fact, be edited, since some of the rehearsals Dvds have only 15 minutes. The concerts may not, all, be complete. But in overall, it has reasonable quality, and it very, very, very pleasurable to watch. Any way i don't know what version is this release.

I have it here...the 11 DVD set. This is great stuff. Nicely edited and almost all with sound. Picture quality is regular VHS (some better, some worse). "Property Of Turner" is showing on almost all of the footage. No DVD quality for sure, but good enough to watch it. The first 10 DVD's are the most interesting. The 11th bonus DVD is feature some shots from the stage and audience. Overall: try to grab it!!!

There are a lot of edited down versions but some of the edited ones I have seen are not that great. However where I received mine from it was compacted straight from the master tapes and you can have all the great footage and still have money left to make your car note. I am not allowed to leave my email address but there was a person who sent me an email and I erased it by mistake, If you still have my email feel free to contact me anytime I can help. Thanks!
