BBC Television is to broadcast a 90 minute documentary on the British Fan Club's members tour to Memphis & Hawaii to be filmed during Elvis Week 2002. Todd Slaughter is concluding a deal which we see the show aired as part of BBC2's Christmas 2002 schedule. "This is great news for the 1,000 fans who will be traveling to the States with us next year. A major international celebrity will host the show, and there will be a book and other activities too."
Also the fan club is co-operating with 48 hours of non-stop TV coverage of the anniversary for BBC Choice TV. As well as bought-in programming there will be a number of shows specifically made for the anniversary weekend in association with the fan club.
Slaughter will also host a series of shows on BBC Radio 2, and there will be a serious documentary produced for BBC Radio 4.
BBC News 24, ITN, Sky News and GMTV will send back daily television news feeds surrounding the club's activities in Memphis.
