Not a small feat by any means! Guess it can be explained by the iconic cover shot of our man, and not to mention the stellar performance he gave in front of a capacity crowd of raucous New Yorkers!! Highlights include a rollicking Blue Suede Shoes, the bluesy take on Hound Dog, and a spirited rendition of Reconsider Baby which delighted Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, who were among the many rock luminaries in attendance that summer night.

Amazing news. Not only an outstanding performance back then, even now! This shows he is the King.

It's charting because it's selling for $5 in supermarkets. And the cover is lousy. Did a 4-year-old design it?

Personally I think this is one of Elvis' best album covers. The booklet inside is also first rate.

Most cds older than 12 months of any modern artist I can buy for 2 or 3 euro. Still they do not beat the King, Harvey. So there must be something else. By the way I also like the cover as it relates to the concert, which is also fantastic.

I too, think it is an excellant cover, superb concert, and, (where Im from-just outside of chicago), it is priced right along w/ a vast majority of the other non new-release cd's in Wal-mart, K-mart, and Best Buy. It's selling consistently because it's Elvis AND it's quite simply...a GREAT album!!

Talking of Chart Entries. Last week, the 2CD compilation album ‘The Essential’ re-entered the Swedish album chart at #22. This week, the album rises from #22 to #17. That is the best position the album has been listed on the chart since it left the Top10 back in September 2007! The album has spent five weeks on the chart so far this year, which adds to a total of 34 weeks since its debut in 2007. ‘The Essential’ initially peaked at #1, and stayed in the Top10 for 8 consecutive weeks (#1 for two weeks). It is currently certified Gold in Sweden.
