American Glory Released

June 13, 2008 | Music
The fourth release from the MfX label, entitled "'American Glory!', has been released. The CD contains the complete Midnight Show from December 06, 1975 MS as recorded at the Las Vegas, Hilton Hotel and part of the opening night of the same Season according to the information received.

From the press release:

The concert is previously unreleased, here you have the opportunity to listen to a slice of the December ‘75 season without doubt one of the best moments of Elvis in 1975, the use of two great tapes make the rest. We are not talking of original tapes but due to the very good quality we are talking of two tapes came from an early generation copy of the master tapes. The audio-quality of the recording is really good, well balanced with not too heavy an audience intrusion and with the right feeling of an Elvis’ concert.

Elvis' performance in both the shows is superb; Elvis in spite of being overweight is still at the top of his musical ability, very intense and active on the stage. We are talking about one of his best seasons and very successful in terms of audience numbers considering that Las Vegas in December is a dead city, but not for Elvis. Both shows do not really have any low points as Elvis sings with intensity and delivers a solid repertoire, not too much space for the classic oldies but a more mature repertoire for the original rock singer with pop songs performed for the majority.

Among the highlights are powerful performances of "Polk Salad Annie", "America The Beautiful", "Burning Love", "Just Pretend" , while on Opening Night we have "It’s Midnight,” performed with absolute show-stopping brilliance and the rare version of “You’ve Lost the Love Feeling” and “ My Boy”.

The packaging will come with a 12 page booklet professionally edited, picture disc, relevant liner notes, original memorabilia and more than 15 photographs covering practically all of the seasons jumpsuits. These are two great shows... the package, the 79,52 minutes of superb music give us definitely something unique We Hope The Definitive one in reference to Elvis’ December 1975 Vegas Season. Don’t miss it!

CD Total Time 79.52 min.

According to Ciscos site, this is neither the set list of Dec 6 MS nor of Dec 6 DS. All of the concerts of this Vegas season list Trying To Get To You. Can someone find out what exactly is contained on this CD? A compilation?
GeertFromNl wrote on June 13, 2008
It's fake! Be aware!
GeertFromNl wrote on June 13, 2008
Yes,it's a compilation which was compiled from 2 or more concerts.
Jesse Garon Presley wrote on June 13, 2008
it's not a fake..stop this negativity for once....yeeezz
Ciscoking wrote on June 13, 2008
The DS and the MS of December 6th, 1975 are availible for ages now in collectors circles. This C-R-A-P label made a patchwork of at least 2 Vegas shows. The setlist doesn`t match the ones of this day. Cheap, sloppy work...
Jesse Garon Presley wrote on June 13, 2008
ok another negative one... i don't care anymore. i will buy this cd anyway..this is not a crappy label...your negative comments however are..but i'm getting immune for negative comments...so there..i allready have this cd..it's great!!
SnOwMan wrote on June 13, 2008
Something in not right here... This is a ramp. I have both the D/S and the M/S but their set-lists are different. The concert on this CD is not from dec. 6th. Or they spliced the D/S and the M/S into one. I wonder why? Clumsy work. Swindlers.
Ciscoking wrote on June 13, 2008
My opinion is negative on this one cause the show is a fake..how can my opinion be positive...?C´mon face the reality..it`s a turkey..!!!
SnOwMan wrote on June 13, 2008
Of course you already have this CD,Bryan, because you're the producer:) You wrote that you will buy this CD. Then in the same post you wrote that you already have it... You lied. You are the person behind this crappy label. Shame on you.

Bravo. Just goes to show the Snowman can't be snowed by Henk(Bryan). The cd gets 5 out of a 5 possible big negative stinkers.
elvis-rocks wrote on June 13, 2008
How do you guys find out the set list for each show? Is there a web site somewhere?
Steve V wrote on June 13, 2008
Bryan - just keep buying everything that comes out & help give the Elvis fans a bad image. Why buy crap?
Jesse Garon Presley wrote on June 14, 2008
steve i'm not just buying anything.. elvis is elvis. and how can u see what i''m buying? how in the world can i give u "negative people" a bad image? come on.. if you won't buy it? your choice. has nothing to do with me.. and we all know you don't like Elvis in the 70's , but learn to live with the fact that not everyone agrees with you..also i have an illnes where i never will recover from. so every cd i buy whether you think it's crap or not..makes me happy. Elvis always makes me happy..every cd ..every dvd. i just ignore negative comment..dont give ME a bad image for saying this. get it?
Jesse Garon Presley wrote on June 14, 2008
no snowman i''m not the producer of this cd..get real! and i downloaded the cd i didn't buy it.. so there goes your theory.. happy now?? keep talking nonsens big guy... and i didn't lie..
Jesse Garon Presley wrote on June 14, 2008
and for the record? i'm not going to visit this article again. i'm not that stupid..be negative all you want. screw that. i don't hate u guys, everyone has a right to his opinion. u also and so am i. it's only fair and again i'm not a cd producer. i wish..but no..sorry snowman

If I can dream of a better land, where all my Elviswebsite fellow brothers who collect every audience recording walk hand in hand, tell me why o why can't my dream come true..
SnOwMan wrote on June 14, 2008
I'll tell you why: because some of them want to fool others. That is the short answer. There would be nothing wrong with this release if it would contain what was stated on the cover. But it contains a completely different show or parts of at least 2 concerts. They lied and tried to fool us. And this is not the first occasion. They also 'forgot' to tell us that the concerts on 'Heavy Times' are shortened. The person behind this label is not honest. This is a fact. You may like his CD's but the sad fact still remains. The MFX label don't deserve my respect.

Henk(Bryan) I do like ELvis in the 70's especially 1970-1972. I dont care much for the live shows after 1972 because they all seem the same to me. Just my opinion but after Aloha, I felt like Elvis was just on autopilot sent by the Colonel town to town with the same show basically & a stint in Vegas in between. The music was no longer creative, he was not a force in the music world and the jumpsuits kept getting more & more outrageous, thus spawning the brith of the ELvis impersonator. Thats what I dont like about the 70's I do like some of the STAX recordings and some of his last singles, but I dont think he cared very much anymore.
Jesse Garon Presley wrote on June 14, 2008
ok steve v, i understand. i'm sorry i just didn't have my day yesterday. but most importantly, i'm not a bit mad at you. i said once u were a friend and for me u still are, but for instance in 1974 and 75 and even in 1976 he some outstanding shows then there he did care obviously. just listen to How Great Thou Art on the import " where no stands alone" from 1975, that voice!!Incredible gave me Goosebumps, i got the cd today and that's what i call a real addition to my collection. so steve i hope u r not mad at me anymore.. see u later
Steve V wrote on June 14, 2008
Im never mad, this site is great for expression opinions and its all very harmless compared to the worlds troubles, so enjoy!
GeertFromNl wrote on June 15, 2008
Could ANYBODY (the producer or anybody else) tell us that which concert or which concerts are on this CD? Because it's obviously not the M/S from December 06, 1975. How this label expect us to buy it when we don't even know what this CD contains???!!!
boris wrote on June 15, 2008
Keeping Elvis alive in larger audiences' mind is not always an easy job and we should all be grateful to FTD and a few others for keeping the standards high. Such CD's only add confusion and waste of time and money to an image that suffered enough fakes and lies in the past. Let's stick to the valuable ones where in my opinion this "new" release doesn't belong to.
SnOwMan wrote on June 15, 2008
"European Barney" should be a better title for this CD.

Just Pretend was only sung during the MS of this day. But the AR which is floating around for years has a different setllist. It also doesn`t match the DS of this day then. I think it`s a patchwork from the MS this day and the MS of December 11th. Both combined in some way become this setlist... oh dear..
Ciscoking wrote on June 27, 2008
A comparison showed that it is 11.12.75 10 PM without Trying To Get To You and Until It`s Time For You To Go. Bad label, bad research !!
