Altered By Elvis

March 19, 2006 | Other
A new documentary on Elvis entitled "Altered By Elvis" explores the lives of people who'se life was altered by Elvis Presley in one way or another.

Synopsis:

The audience will follow those who have been imprinted, fathered, fulfilled and even destroyed by the King of rock and roll. The love for Elvis is contagious, and everyone knows someone that claims to be, “Elvis’ number ONE fan”, but "Altered by Elvis" digs much deeper to find the untold stories of the people he left behind... the ravages of pop culture.

The "Altered by Elvis" team will follow these individuals home and show the viewer their own scarred lives; and how they, literally, walk with Elvis - in his shadow, with his ghost and in his light - still to this day. We will hear Larry Geller’s recounting of styling Elvis’ hair for the star’s funeral and hear about the outrageous tales of devotion from fans ... and the reason why Jimmy hates Elvis.

Most certainly we will see what it is like to have been truly Altered By Elvis.

"Altered by Elvis" has been selected for the Memphis International Film Festival 2006, March 23-27, 2006 Memphis, TN and also the Vail Film Festival March 30 - April 2, 2006 Vail, Colorado.

who are these people. These are obviously more people trying to harm Elvis and his legacy and reputation. I can't find any other reason other than money or jealousy or outright not understanding Elvis as to why people do this and continue to do so.

Hello, My name is Pamela Keogh, and I am the author of "Elvis Presley: The Man, The Life, The Legend." I happened to see a screening of this film in NYC, and I loved it. (And if I had not, believe me, I would have said something.) ALTERED is a very loving tribute to those who actually knew and loved Elvis... Al Wertheimer, Dixie Locke, Larry Geller, as well as a few fans. At the end of it, I was very moved by those whose lives were changed by knowing Elvis. I would wait until you have had a chance to see the doc to jump to conclusions. I have seen it and loved it (as did Al). Thank you, ps -- IMO, the review makes it sound a bit more "scandalous" than it really is -- "outrageous" tales of devotion by fans? I think the review is more scandalous than anything in the movie (!)

ps -- I forgot to mention -- I know Larry, and he is a great person. EP was fortunate to have him as his friend.
