Elvis looked amazing for his Aloha Special, which makes the new DVD cover an appalling choice. How many 38 year olds do you know that looked that good ??

The 68 Comeback Special Cover art is okay - nothing special. But the Aloha cover art is terrible - EPE/BMG should learn from MGM. Those beautiful MGM movies DVD cover art will surely help sells many.many more copies of those 60s Elvis movies.

elvishimselvis Elvis was in super physical form for the ALoha Special.. Believe me, the enormous amount of close ups were due to his great looking face ; not to hide the possibility of him being heavy, because he wasn't...It's the 50th anniv now, so lets please stay positive.. Their is enough cynicism and duplicity out there. Elvis was never a part of any of that..

Elvishimselvis. I agree with you on the camera angles. That would be great. I also think the show was slightly toned down due to the global viewing, and the fact that Elvis realized that in the Eastern world, the culture is more reflective by nature. This show was planned specifically with them in mind.. I bet you never thought of it that way..

Agreed! The cover to the '68 special is ok but the Aloha? very poor. i'm a designer and i would have loooooved to have had a go at that one. Still, i'm looking forward to both releases.

I have been watching the ALOHA from hawaii show alot lately and looking for where all the cameras are. from what Ive seen they should be able to make this show alot more exciting. I notice when I watch the ALOHA SHOW. there is alot of close-ups where there should be full body shots. the first two songs are very exciting and Elvis is moving his leg like crazy to fast songs. but all we see is his shoulders and head. making it appear like he's not moving at all. you can only give that appearence if your in great shape. just to let you know. they really mess up in the song FEVER mostly face closeups and there needs to be more audience views. thats what alot of TODAYS shows have. if they do this it will make it seem alot more modern. Mostly I just cant wait to see these. these are just as cool as releasing an Official ELVIS IN CONCERT DVD. well as close as it gets. but thats also the one all big fans are waiting for with todays technology. we can also make Elvis appear more healty if they wanted to. in the CBS shows with better editing and the right choice of songs Elvis looked better in some songs than others. its done all the time today. touching up the face or making his body thinner but would also cost money to do this

GRIBZ: I totally agree Elvis was in supreme condition for the aloha special. he and Sunny West went on the California diet and he did Karate like crazy for two months eating protein shakes for food and also frozen vegtables from what ive heard. Im saying in certain instances when their was a high energy song. they only showed his face. Elvis had awesome body language. this would have given more energy to the song. Im not cutting anyone down. Im just saying with the different angles this should look like a whole NEW SHOW. you will see what I mean when you see the new Aloha although Ive not yet seen it but from what Ive heard and imagined

Gribz. I totally agree once again. I have always felt like he did little Karate in the Aloha special because of all the far eastern watchers. I feel like he didnt want to show off and he wanted to be humble about his skills but if Aloha was filmed in Aug of 74. it probably would have been a entire hour of Karate but anyway. Yes. I agree with the toning down because of the global viewing over a Billion people watching . you dont want to make any mistakes. Someone wrote awhile back that they have seen the new Aloha and with the different angles it appears to be more toned Up. this is what Im looking for. it would be so nice if it opens with people outside the arena buying tickets. And to be honest in a couple of years if they came out with another Aloha with even different camera angles I would buy that one also. Im very interested to see what they do with the sound quality in the 68 special
