Again: Under The Hammer

January 26, 2000 | Other
An intriguing array of Elvis Presley memorabilia will highlight the Jan. 26 and 27 Collectors Universe Good Rockin’ Tonight (GRT) auction, including a pair of sweatpants sported by Presley, a red and gold wristwatch the King kept in his bathroom at Graceland, and two eighteen-inch wide brass eagles Elvis had hanging in his Graceland office.

Other Presley collectibles include a musical figurine given to Elvis and Priscilla to celebrate the birth of Lisa Marie and the second professional contract he ever signed. Dated Nov. 12, 1955, Presley signed this contract to extend his commitment to the Louisiana Hayride radio program for another year. The signatures of Presley’s mother and father are also on the contract as witnesses.

GRT Expert and Cataloguer Kelly Lawler said, "The Elvis memorabilia items in our upcoming auction pose a unique and exciting opportunity for Elvis fans to partake in his personal life."

Fans will be able to bid on an exceptional piece of Elvis’ music as well. An extremely rare first copy of the gold vinyl/gold label "Jailhouse Rock" 45 RPM will be on the January auction block.
