A Message From Lisa Marie Presley At Candlelight Vigil

August 16, 2011 | Other

The following message below from Lisa Marie Presley was read tonight to fans who gathered at the gates of Graceland for the annual Candlelight Vigil during Elvis Week 2011:

Dear Friends:

Thank you so much for being here and continuing to honor the legacy of my father. Your ongoing love and support mean very much to me and my family. My father always said he had the best fans in the world, and he was right. The fact that you are here to celebrate his life 34 years after his passing is a testament to that.

I hope you've enjoyed our new exhibits at Graceland and I look forward to being involved personally with a very special exhibit called "Elvis Through His Daughter's Eyes" opening in the Spring of next year.

Before we know it, it will be Elvis Week 2012, which as you all know as the 35th anniversary will be special time. I look forward to being there with you, my mother and entire family.

Thank you all and I'll see you next August.

LMP

This is a lovely letter from Lisa Marie. It is great that she is appreciating all the fans' holding a vigil for Elvis. Lisa's love for her father Elvis, is so evident. The exhibit for next year will be good. What a great title "Elvis Through His Daughter's Eyes". Thank you to Lisa and her family.

Lisa Marie is not Elvis' daughter, she's a fake. Elvis' only biological child is Desirée.

Let's look at the facts, Elvis was married to Lisa Marie's mother and Lisa's entire life has been documented in the media spotlight. She also bears an uncanny resemblance to Elvis. This Desiree character and her mother crawled out of the woodwork years after Elvis died with no evidence to support their claims. Any resemblance Desiree has to Elvis was created by a surgeons knife. The posting was a disgrace, but not unexpected. This particular contributer to the site always writes offensive rubbish.

Sorry for my comment, i really didn't want to offend anyone. I just truly believe that Desirée is Elvis' biological daughter and i'm sure that i'm not alone with my opinion. Take care, Erika

And of course Lisa Marie is Elvis' daughter. English is not my first language but what i meant is that if Desirée is Elvis' daughter (only a DNS test could prove it) then she deserves the same rights as LMP.

You're right, i wrote a foolish thing. Next time i'll think twice before i write something. Take care.

It is sweet to read how she feels connected with the fans from the heart. Let's not forget we have paid our respects annually to her father almost all of her life and confronted her too with the great loss. It must have been overwhelming for Lisa Marie to be confronted by the loyalty of her father's fans! She lost her father at a tender age and has been a focus point too. It is hard to grasp what this has done to her during her youth. Apart from that, it must have been quite a struggle not to been seen as 'just' the daughter of the greatest singer and performer of all times. It has been bold to try to get her carrier going on her own merits.
