I would like to see one more Elvis release in my lifetime. It would be all the singles in one nice package. Problem with that is the only way it could be done with nice packaging is as a boot. The parent co. would show the same tired pictures. There is a Japanese version but it's old & very expensive.

I agree that a complete singles box with all the 45's in chronological order with A and B sides would make a good release . A nice touch would be to have a book with all of the picture sleeves at full size along with chart info, recording data , and inside information as to why each song was chosen as a single . Meanwhile I don't think I'll bother with this Legendary Performer box.

This release is really a labour of love. Look at that cover. Even Elvis promoted this series. Fantastic. Gives me chills down my spine..

Wasnt elvis quoted as saying this is the best series ever produced?

I'm sick of bootlegs. They used to be so rare that finding one was a delight, even if the sound and packaging was sub par. Now they are everywhere. Most of the "new" boots are repeats of excellent boots from the past. They may promise better sound and fancier packaging, but the improvements rarely make buying the material again worth the money. Then there is crap like this 8 CD box, which some guy probably burned from his PC at home. Even if he sells 3 of his 500 copies, he will make a profit. It's just junk, and it's sad. These days, FTD is looking far better than the import market. Not that FTD has changed anything about their marketing strategy. It's just that the import market has imploded.

These are factory pressed not CDr. I hardly think selling 3 would cover the cost of manufacturing 500. This one is not for me but for anyone coming late to bootlegs, what's the problem. This might not be a release full of new material but describing it as "crap", "junk" and "sad", is a bizarre way of describing 8CDs full of Elvis.

Ftd has one problem, it is ran by someone with a bigger ego than the colonel. Just look at the release stage rehearsal, even when told by many it was a bad release, he says pretty much he doesnt care. Fake applause lol, yea ernst is on top of his game. This release is also rubbish but many die hard fans will buy anyways.
