42 Years

Elvis 42 Years Before & After is a new import CD with a theme. Elvis achieved many musical highs, however his career didn’t end at age 42 in 1977.

The first disc of this double CD set brings you all the most important recordings and hits from his lifetime. From Elvis’ 1954 debut at the Sun label through to the 'Elvis In Concert' 1977 CBS TV special.

The second disc contains the stuff that has kept his name and legacy alive some 42 years after that fatal day in August 1977. From Felton Jarvis' 1980 re-recording session through to 2018 Where No One Stands Alone duet with Lisa-Marie Presley. It is a journey through new songs, remakes and remixes, a live recording from Elvis The Concert World Tour and finally duets with well-known artists and his daughter Lisa Marie Presley.

One can drill holes in any Elvis collection as it is always subjective, but the contents here are a lot better than most. Perhaps the descriptions are not specific, but being picky I thought Baby let's Play House was first billboard hit, All Shook Up first number 1 on both sides of the Atlantic, and Devil in Disguise was not a number 1 in USA., but regardless of that fact, this is an interesting selection of tracks..
